“An oasis in Vegas”
We can't recommend The Platinum highly enough. If it could be picked up and moved 1 big block closer to the strip, it would be absolutely perfect. Being a non casino hotel is an huge plus, the staff were nothing but fantastic, and really gave the impression that they love their work, and wanted to help us in anyway that they could. We had a 1 bedroom self contained suite, and the space was refreshing - you could kick a footy in the bathroom! The kitchen was well set up, and all cooking stuff was readily available with a phone call. For aussies travelling abroad, it was like a slice of home.
“Exceeds expectations”
Every aspect of our stay was perfect. The room was perfect, the staff were beyond helpful and couldn't do enough for you. They were interested in your day and treated us like VIPs. My husband and I are seasoned travellers but the couple we were with weren't. So I had booked this hotel so that we wouldn't have to put up with Casino smoke and noise. Even my friend (who isn't a bit fan of hustle and bustle) was totally impressed with this hotel. We had come back from a Cirque du Soleil Show, and decided to have late supper and drinks at the hotel. Even though the girl was about to close, she stayed back to accomodate us. I have to say, my biggest issue was with the other comments that I had read on the websites when they said that it was such a ''walk to get to the Strip''. I mean REALLY?? It takes 5 to 10 minutes! I have arthritis and I had NO problem. It is good to do SOME exercise. Also, the issue with the homeless around the hotel. Well, you could see the less fortunate people everywhere around the strip. I guess we see it so much when we travel, that we feel for them but don't feel threatened by them. We talked to a few of them on our way to and from the strip. And , sometimes it's these characters that you meet that add a different dimension to our trip. Anyway, I would totally recommend this hotel. I actually would love to come back to Las Vegas just to stay here again. I have already been singing it's praises since we got back.
“excellent hotel!”
The service at the Platinum hotel is amazing! recieved a free upgrade when we got there. Great restaurant downstairs for breakfast and half price appetizers and drinks between 4 and 8 pm. Called down to customer service twice and recieved quick service and also a phone call 10 minutes later to make sure we didnt need anything else! My only complaint about the whole stay is that we did not recieve our wake up call the morning we where leaving. I found out later that their computers crashed, but glad we set a seperate backup alarm! Make sure to also call downstairs to get the password for free wifi! I would definately stay at this hotel again. The walk to the strip was a bit tiring after the 3rd day...A shuttle once an hour or so would be great! Las Vegas is also much dirtier than I remember last time in general.. lots of litter around and a lot more homeless people. No one bothered us, but I remember last time the streets where spotless! Overall probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!
“good hotel, But!!!”
This hotel had really good amenities, good value for the money, large bedroom, two double beds, more like an apartment, lounge, kitchen, with dishwasher, oven, microwave, double fridge, washer dryer, fabulous bathroom, double sink, walkin shower, and jaccuzi. fabulous views of the srip, but not on the strip ( ten minutes walk) Reception Staff and valet were very accomodating, could'nt do enough, friendly as soon as they realised it was my birthday they sent up a complementary bottle of chamagne and chocolate covered strawberries, nice touch. Also printed out our return boarding passes, provided the return car to the airport. Hotel bar was very nice, good value during the happy hour. Good pool area with very comfy loungers. But...., if you can put up with the following niggles it's worth a stay, the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired, the carpets were quite stained in the lounge area, the balcony had not seen a mop and bucket in ages, the windows had not been cleaned in months they were full of finger marks. The food also was not so good, we had breakfast once, not to be repeated, it was only just warm some of it flat cold, you could tell it had been standing a while and some of it was heated up, when we mentioned it the waiters were clueless. They replaced the cold portions but then everything else was cold. they did try to make amends and only charged us for one breakfast, but the lack of organisation left a lot to be desired.-breakfast elsewhere. Such a shame.
“Another Outstanding Stay”
Fifth stay at The Platinum this year. It's refreshing to check in to "no surprises". Staff are courteous, prompt and attentive to your requests-from check-in to check-out. Gita (conceigere) assisted in planning a wonderful Birthday celebration. She is simply "Wonderful".. Derek-Room Director was a attentive to concerns and wanted to be sure we had another wonderful "Platinum" experience. Stir Lounge was very refreshing and exceptional service and cocktails. Room was great but what has me returning time after time is the exceptional staff and personal service I always receive. See you soon!
“Great Hotel”
This is a nice hotel for a more relaxing stay in Vegas. The idea of no casino gets you away from the chaos and noise. The room was clean and had all that was needed, however the quality of the room is not as lavish as a number of other 4 star properties in Vegas. The hotel has all of the amenities but the rooms are closer to a 3 star level. The restaraunt is very good and quite reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Similarly, the service from all of the hotel staff from the front desk to the valet was excellent and extremely friendly. Definately would go back again.
“Awesome Experience”
I recently stayed at the Platinum Hotel over Thanksgiving, and was incredibly pleased by the experience. The room was outstanding, and there was no waiting in line to check-in (arrived around 4:30 pm). Valet parking was great - never had a problem getting the car in a timely manner, and the guys were always friendly and willing to give directions when/if needed. It was nice to have a full kitchen in the suite, and the whirlpool bathtub hit the spot after a long day of gambling. It was also a treat to be able to do laundry and not have to go home with a smoky-smelling suitcase. I've already got my return trip planned for spring, and am definitely staying at the Platinum Hotel.
“Home away from home”
We stayed a whole week on a 9th floor (upgraded) room with balcony on the strip side. The room was huge, clean, everything worked, staff was helpful, attentive, so on and so forth.... The kitchen was great in that it was nice to not be forced to eat out all the time. Having a washer and dryer is also great. There's a 7-11 just around the corner so you can get things to eat there. Bally's casino is just a block away, as well as others also nearby. The strip is very nearby too, just a few minutes walking, maybe five to ten at most, depending on how fast or slow you walk. There's a monorail at Bally's that goes up and down the strip, plus there are free shuttle buses from Bally's to other casinos. We had a great experience and if we ever come back to Las Vegas and need to stay in a hotel, I would definately stay here again. I liked the quiet environment there too. The only negative is I didn't feel comfortable walking at night in that location, but it wasn't a big problem for us anyway. We just took taxis at night if we needed to go out.
“Comforts of Home on the Strip”
One block from the Strip, no smoking, no gambling hotel, with a staff that gives 5-Star service. Add in-room washer/dryers in the princess rooms, so you don't have to check baggage, a full kitchen so you don't have to rely on room service, and you've got a real bargain. The pools is both indoor and outdoor, and big enough to get in a small lap. The bar is very friendly, with 4-8 pm happy hour drinks and snacks at half price. Getting in and out of the driveway is easy enough, though you have to go down to a light and make a U-turn to go west. Balconys in some room are nice, too. I like to go to the "Vegas" experience, and then get away from it to rest up.
“Greatness! Clean, SMOKE FREE, great staff, rooms were awesome with a patio”
Hotel is only a couple of blocks behind Ballys on the strip, so it is very easy to get to everything. The staff is very helpful with any questions you might have. A little extra that we enjoyed in the lobby was the flavored water :) Hotel is smoke free which is a HUGE plus in Las Vegas, rooms are huge, bathrooms even bigger, and you have a nice patio with a view.
