Honeymoon in Vegas - September 2014

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: It is convenient to everything on The Strip. It is on the Vegas Monorail stop and has many options for public transportation.
Cons: Hotel rooms need updating.
Location: Adjacent to The Quad and all major attractions. Monorail station was very convenient.
We booked our honeymoon trip to Harrah's Las Vegas because our hometown also has a Harrah's Hotel and Casino. We love the one in our hometown and assumed that the accommodations at Harrah's Las Vegas would be similar just on a larger scale. The staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was wonderful. We booked a deluxe king room with a view. The hotel rooms need updating i.e. the carpet is worn, faucets are leaky, shower curtains need replacing. And, we were shocked when we asked for a coffee maker in the room and were told that we could either have a room with a view or a room with a coffee maker! Based on our overall experience, we will stay at Harrah's again because of it's central location and affordable room rates. Next time, we will just buy a coffee maker at Walgreen's (right down the street) for our "Deluxe" room.

Very reasonable for the location and price.

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, centrally located. Very close to the High Roller, the Linq, and the Forum Shops are across the street. Not too far a walk to the Venetian.
Cons: Upgrade the rooms and the eateries.
Harrah's is a fine enough hotel within the Caesar's Entertainment chain. It's just in need of an overhaul. Furnishings are a bit dated, but the room was clean, had a great view, and the bed was comfortable. The dining facilities are in the process of being upgraded, but currently, they leave something to be desired. The buffet was so-so, rather tasteless food. KGB (a gourmet burger restaurant was only open Thursday night, through the weekend. Not great if you're there during the week. Toby Keith's was perfectly acceptable, though we're not country music fans. Overall, the staff was excellent, including signage to find the taxi and shuttle lines. If you want a mid-range hotel on the Strip, it's fine. Other than the pool, more adult oriented, not much for those with children/families.

Run down hotel with poor staff.

Posted 13-Sep-2014
Pros: Inexpensive on centrally located on the strip.
Cons: More staff allocated to running the hotel and lass in the casino.
Location: Hotel is in great location near everything on the strip.
Check in is a nightmare. The wait is so long that they pass out water. The people handing out water would be more useful if they were trained how to check guests in to hotel. Awful view. Not enough towels, no shower mat and insufficient soap, shampoo, etc... Hotel restaurant was closed for renovations so there was no place for breakfast. An employee recommended I visit McDonalds. I have stayed at this hotel for the past 6 years but I will not return again.

Front Desk can be Better

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, close to Sand Expo
Cons: Make bathroom cleaner. There were stains around the sink. And bath tub water draining was too slow.
Requested for a King room and was told for that room, but actually got a double bed. Called front desk but was asked to come down and ask them. I wanted to knowo if there is still King room available but was told no access. When I went to the front desk I was told immediately that all King room sold out. Why couldn't they tell me earlier to save me a trip?

GOOD LOCATION...MIDDLE & HEART OF THE VEGAS STRIP.

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VEGAS STRIP...
Cons: EVERYTHING...COMMUNICATION WITH THE GUEST
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL. WE HAD TO CHANGE ROOMS, TWICE. THE ROOM WAS TOO COLD THEN IT GOT TOO HOT & THE BUTTONS WERE BROKEN OFF THE THERMOSTAT SO WE COULDN'T ADJUST IT OURSELVES SO I HAD TO CALL MAINTENANCE TO COME FIX IT. WE ALSO HAD TO GO GET A KEY CARD FOR OUR ROOM ABOUT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE AFTER ONE OR TWO USES, IT WOULD NOT WORK AGAIN. THE EXCUSE THE FRONT DESK GAVE ME WAS THE "BATTERIES" PROBABLY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED IN THE DOOR. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THE DOOR TOOK BATTERIES, HOWEVER, THAT WAS NOT MY PROBLEM. THEY OUGHT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVRYTHING IS DONE CORRECTLY BEFORE THE NEXT GUESS IS PLACED IN THAT ROOM, MY OPINION. INSTEAD OF GOING ALL THE WAY BACK DWNSTAIRS WHEN MY KEY WOULDN'T WORK, I WENT TO USE THE COURTESY PHONES BY THE ELEVATORS & THEY WERE EITHER BROKEN OR MISSING. I WENT TO GO PLAY SOME SLOTS & OVER HALF OF THE MACHINES WERE SITTING ON TOP OF THE OTHER MACHINES. THEY JUST HAD ONE SMALL SECTION OF THE CASINO OPEN BECAUSE OF CONSTUCTION THEY WERE DOING BUT THEY DID NOT MAKE THE GUEST AWARE. MOST OF THEIR RESTAURANTS WERE CLOSED DUE TO THE CONSTRUCTION.JUST A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE...
