“Have had eight holidays at this hotel. Ideal location off the strip”

The Gold Coast Hotel and Gasino is opposite the Palms and adjacent to the Rio. Perfect location if you want quieter surroundings than the strip. Free shuttle service to the strip (Bills Gambling Casino) and also the Orleans. Gold Coast has many fine restaurants and a first class buffet.

Area recommendations
The City Centre is a must with all the new 5 star hotels. Aria,Vdara, Cosmopolitan. Downtown at Fremont street is well worth a visit for the evening light shows. Also Sams Town is worth a visit : shuttle from behind Harrahs. As well as Sams Town Hotel and Casino ther is Eastside Cannery which is only a few years old and is very modern with great buffet.
Shopping
The Fashion Show Mall is huge and contains all the top shops as well as speciality shops. Also most of the major hotels have their own internal shopping malls. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace are well worth a visit.

“Good Location, been staying there for years!”

Been staying at the Gold Coast for a number of years since it was sold their has been some changes that I've noticed over the years. I really miss the bar and cafe that used to be there...Sorry TGIFridays isn't my favorite. The rooms were generally cleaned well (although I did find an Iphone charger in the drawer that wasn't mine) Front desk staff are super and the Valets and Bell staff are always awesome. Ping Pang Pongs have the BEST chinese food ever!! It's just a minute off the strip half the price and none of the super long walks to get anywhere associated with the big hotels....for the younger crowd not a super place but for people that aren't looking for a loud obnoxious hotel this is great (and I always make money in the Casino!!)

“"Off Strip but Top Value"”

Previously stayed at the Stratosphere which I still rate, but the Gold Coast is as near to the action as some strip hotels. The free bus service makes this a good option especially since the cab fares seem to have rocketed since I was last in Vegas 3 years ago. The hotel was clean, lively and the food options were good and economical, and I would deifnately stay at the Gold Coast again!

Must see
Do your research, Vegas shows can be expensive, make sure you get to Freemont Street experience, the water show at Bellagio and all the other free shows on offer.

“Good Bang For the Buck”

This is the second year for me at the Gold Coast and I will continue to go there. While it is one of the older hotels and some distance from the strip, the wife and I enjoyed our stay. After going to some of the larger casinos on the strip the wife and I found we prefered a little bit smaller casino. Not as glitzy and flashy but a fun place to be. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull with any questions we had.

“Decent Hotel”

My husband and I stayed at the Gold Coast for the National Finals Rodeo. Overall, we had a good experience. The room was clean, but the bathroom was very small and the view out of our room was the alley behind the hotel. The hotel is off the strip, but the shuttle ran regularly and dropped us off at Bill's on the strip. It was a fun hotel to stay at during the NFR because there was an "after the rodeo" party upstairs with a live band. For the price, we would recommend this hotel.

“alright hotel”

The hotle was fine the furniture was a little cheesey and we got a new renovated room. I was not happy with the maid knocking on the door at 9 am when we did not get to sleep til early in the morning and had the do not disturb sign on the door. other than that it was nice.

“"Brilliant time"”

This was our first visit to the USA, the Gold Coast Casino and Hotel came on a recommendation, our first impression was that it had a friendly feel to it, there were only two receptionists on when we arrived, that suited us perfectly, unlike some of the bigger hotels with 12 or more desks to check you in. Our room had a lovely view over the mountains, it was very comfortable with fresh towels every day, there was coffee making facilities, a 32" tv on the wall, the 6`6" bed was like sleeping on cotton wool, a good nights sleep was had for the whole 10days of our stay. The buffet for breakfast and evening meal was never lacking in variety, there was something for everyone. We would certainly return to stay there.

When to go
We went in November the weather was warm and sunny.
Getting around
There is a free monorail which runs between The Bellagio and Monte Carlo, another one which runs from The Excaliber to Mandalay Bay, they were all very frequent. The Deuce bus runs up and down the strip, we used this and was very useful.
What to pack
We packed lighter clothes for the warmer days, Thicker tops and a waterproof jacket incase it got cooler or rained
Must see
Must sees which are free, Fountains at The Bellagio, they were amazing, Volcano at The Mirage, the sinking ship outside Treasure Island.

long corridors, smoky casino, windows don't open, shower pressure in the shower will tear a baby's head off.

“Local hotel very Good”

We stayed at this hotel off the strip, but, close enough to go anywhere. It is a really good hotel which the locals use.Food was excellent, and in our opinion is very under-rated by travel agents.staff everywhere were very helpful and the amenities available were better than the uk.a lesson to be learnt.

Area recommendations
I would recommend going off the strip as well as on.Also go to valley of fire, breathtaking. We went through 3 states in one day and the Red rock Canyon.
