Great Location

Posted 25-Dec-2014
The first night wasn't great because Darius put us in the smallest room and it wasn't that clean. The heater didn't work so I was cold and uncomfortable. But after we called Guest Services they handled the problem very well. We moved to a bigger room and the heater worked great. At the. At end everything was great. Staff were professional and knowledgeable. We loved stay at the Flamingos and will recommend it to our family and friends

Renovated room!

Posted 24-Dec-2014
I booked the "king +" room. I have stayed at the Flamingo before and I was blown away with the difference! The room was great, flatscreen, electric curtains operated by a wall switch, and a separate tub and shower in the bathroom. I'd stay here again in a second.

Nice stay for the price

I read some bad reviews so my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. Check-in was only 5 min. But I checked in at 4:05 pm on a Thursday. The place is old, but you can see they are trying. The room was an upgrade and it was old, but not as bad as what I've read. The elevators are slow and some buttons for floors were missing. My first experience in the elevator it stopped on floor 4, but the door didn't open. That made me and the others in the elevator pretty nervous. It then started going up again and was fine after that. The valet service was pretty slow. It took them about 15 min to get my car on a Saturday morning. Later when I returned I was told there would be a 25 min wait for them to take it (it was a Saturday night around 7:00 - there were over a couple dozen drivers in their cars waiting). However an employee told me I could valet park at the Cromwell next door. That turned out great! It was even closer for me to my room and on my return to get my car it was only about a 2 min wait. The location is excellent. I'll stay there again and hope I get lucky on a low check-in time again.

Hotel

Posted 23-Dec-2014
I had an awful experience at the Flamingo. Upon checking in they asked for a credit card to put on file for damages. I had previously paid for my hotel room. The day I checked in my credit card was charged two charges, one for 150.00 and one for 100.80. When I asked about the charges I was told I was charged a 150.00 holding fee and then 100.80 in resort fees. I had already paid for my hotel, including resort fees. And there was no reason for a holding fee. The staff was extremely rude and informed me they would not refund me and I would have to dispute the charges if I wasn't happy. Also, the elevators weren't working and we were put in a room on the 23rd floor. Overall, the trip was a disaster and I will NEVER stay at the Flamingo again!

Nice hotel with casino attached, on the strip.

My wife and I spent a couple of days here as part of our honeymoon trip. They had an attached parking complex which is hard to come by these days. Overall pleasant stay and experience. Will stay here again if I visit Vegas.

Upgraded room was ok.

Posted 23-Dec-2014
Pros: The modern upgrades in the room like the TV in the bathroom and the beds and linens were comfortable.
Cons: Continue with the renovating and upgrades. A better variety of slot machines.
Location: Margarittaville is fun and right in the Flamingo. It is very central and close to a good variety of hotels.
When we got to the hotel I decided to ask for an upgraded room after reading some of the reviews. For an extra $20 per night we were upgraded to a GO room. Upon entering the room we were quite pleased! It seemed very modern. The curtains opened with a button, there was a TV right in the bathroom mirror. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We had a view of the High Roller ferris wheel at the Linq. There were a few things that could have been a bit cleaner and the carpet should have been replaced with the upgrade, but overall the room was ok. I would, however, probably not go back to the Flamingo because my husband and I felt there was not a great selection of slot machines. It is a great location, but we find that with the RTC bus pass it is so easy to get anywhere on the strip.
