Other day-and-night entertainment on the street includes live music, classic-car displays, and holiday festivals. Like nine other downtown casino hotels, Fitzgeralds opens directly onto Fremont Street, creating a lively flow of pedestrian traffic.

The Casino furnishes 42,000 square feet of slots, video poker, video keno, blackjack, craps, roulette, Pai Gow, Caribbean Draw poker, keno, and a small race-and-sports book.
On the second floor is the smoke-free Poker Room with six tables, three plasma TVs, daily tournaments at noon and 9 PM, complimentary poker lessons at 10 AM, and a progressive Bad Beat Jackpot.

“love the Fitz..”
We love the casino floor at the Fitz and you can't beat the Courtyard for food and price
“Comfortable and a great deal”
I've stayed at the Fitz a bunch of times and always liked it. The rooms are large -- larger than most on the strip -- and are always quite clean. Rooms had about 25 good TV channels, phones, iron and board and in-room safe. Higher floors offer a view and are more isolated from the noise of the Fremont St Experience. You can't beat the location in mid-Fremont St. Decent internet in the lobby's business centre (pay to use). Good coffee in Krispy Kreme in the casino.
“ValNCal”
Dont expect to much, older hotel but if all you need is a place to lay you're head down after partying, more laid back then down on the strip. Bed was soft and passed out as soon as I got back to the room. Breakfast was good for free after coffee and tip it was only 3 bucks. I had a rental car , parking was very easy to go in and out because you dont have to pay for parking. The people around are a little older but fun to be around. Its like playing cards with Papa n Granma but with money in there eyes. Overall the stay was good, and I would come back.
“Good Choice !”
This was not our first trip to Vegas, so for something new we decided to stay on Freemont St. We weren't sure if the old part was a good idea or not, but turned out to be fantastic! A very welcome change from the crazy mosh pit of tourists on the strip. Fitzgeralds is an older hotel but very well situated. The staff was wonderful, check in & check out took less than 5 minutes, the restaurant in the casino was good & so convienient (and they threw in free breakfast everyday, a nice touch!) and the rooms were comforatable. Freemont St is a great atmosphere and is right in front of the hotel. A bit of a downside was that the Freemont Experience (light show) goes every hour in the evening until midnight so it really boomed in the hotel room. We learned to stay out until after midnight and solved that problem ;) The shower is also built for folks under 5 foot tall, but again, not a huge drawback. We took city transit easily to go to the strip, so it was a good compromise to stay here. We had a great experience, would definitely book in this location again!
“"Can't wait to go back"”
The rates were awesome and the food was even better. I will stay there every time I goe to Vegas. The staff were great and most everything was cheaper.
“Shoddy maintenance”
Reported problem with tub faucet Friday a.m.; no action taken til Saturday when they called to tell me they had to move my room because hotel engineer had detected problem; they denied that I had reported issue more than 24 hours earlier. The least they could have done was comped a meal or two for the inconvenience. And the elevators are slow (not as bad as in previous years, but still slower than other hotels downtown).
“Needs remodeled”
Didn't get the room we requested upon check in. We did arrive early, but were told no rooms of our selection were available and we wouldn't be able to get one that day. First room we got was not in good condition. Shower faucet leaked, took FOREVER for the water to warm up, sink gurgled when another room used their sink. We did get a room like we had requested the next day and it wasn't a problem to switch at all. Room was maintained a little better. Sink still gurgled though. Think the rooms need to be remodeled. Elevators took forever on our first day there. Not sure if they were working on them or not. If there are four elevators, you would think you wouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for an elevator. We just took the stairs......even though we were on the 19th floor.
“NFR Trip”
Great Experience!
“we always stay at the fritz love downtown!!”
fremont street was a hoot!!! we had so much fun lots of stuff going on when nfr is there!
“Loads of Fun on Fremont St!”
I had read LOTS of reviews on this hotel before deciding to try it. It is an older establishment with older furnishings and an older feel, but the staff was really nice and we loved being on Fremont St. It was a 3 block long party at night. We found a bar called Triple 7 in the nieghborhood (Main St.) that had micro brewed beer and great food. Everything is more reasonable downtown too. The hotel room wasnt the cleanest I have ever been in but quite honestly, I have paid way more and had the same problem, it was livable. Everyone complained about the elevators... it's vacation people! Grow up and slow down some! They really werent bad, Friday was the worst and of course the weekend nights but really- they got you were you needed to be just fine. If you want the cheaper food and drinks- DEFINITELY Fremont St! Triple 7= micro brewed pint of delicious Black Chip beer 3.25 On the strip at an outside bar= CAN of Guiness 7-8 dollars. You only sleep in the hotel room anyway... take the Deuce bus to the strip for 7$ for 24 hr. pass, slow down and enjoy yourself.
