“The practical considerations trump everything else....”
Stayed here for a few days this week. I’ve stayed in dozens of Las Vegas hotels but the primary reason I booked this particular hotel was because it is very close to the Convention Center (5 minute walk)... I wanted to take in the PowerGen Conference. The hotel is a long ways from being the flashiest LV hotel but I’ve many reasons to recommend it. While at McCarran Airport, I called to see when the next shuttle would arrive. I was told 4 minutes and in fact it arrived in 4 minutes. I got to the hotel at 1pm and although check-in wasn’t until 3pm, they let me into my room.... this was very important to me since it was quite convenient to drop off my bags, have a shower and after a short walk, take in the afternoon of my conference. The room was large, it was somewhat outdated and rundown but seemed to be quite clean, the tv worked well, the internet worked extremely well (most important to me) and although the room had a somewhat odd arrangement with a double counter arrangement, it worked out quite well as these were plenty of working surfaces for me to spread out the lots of papers I was working on. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, the fridge worked well, the shower was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful anytime I needed anything. Upon checkout, a friendly driver took me to the airport in a decent van.....and the price was right with the shuttle and internet included. I only ate there once.... breakfast one morning and it was fine.
“The hotel was good for the money.”
The hotel is not bad but its a bit away from the strip. One will have to take the tube/overhead train which costs 5$ one way. One could find a similar hotel for a similar price on the strip so its better to stay on the strip (if the strip is the attraction for you).
“Noisey”
I felt that the room was great, but just the surrounding people whom are staying there are noisey. Had a not great night the first night because of the heat issues. The second night was better but again, the neighbors were loud and crazy. Had to call security several times to address the issue.
“Las Vegass”
Everything was fine. I have nothing to say
“Surprised! Quality exceeded price”
Clean rooms, comfy beds.
“Not Impressed”
I probably would not go back to this hotel. The rooms were nice, they were comfortable and clean, but the service was not very good at all. There were no extra blankets in the room and when I went down to the lobby to ask for some I was blown off.
“It's all right for the price.”
The staff that cleans the rooms are very helpful! The font desk is very under staffed. I locked myself out of the room and they said I would need to come get the key cause they didn't have enough staff. I also paid extra money for additional people in the room but still there was only enough supplies for 2 people. It was alright. Next time I will pay the extra money though.
“Decent for the price”
It is a decent hotel if you are on a budget. The rooms were OK, beds were comfy. Staff was helpful and check-in was smooth. Only problem is the location of the hotel. It is a little walk from the strip, especially if you are tired from the walking on the strip. Hotel does provide a free shuttle, but they drop you off/pick you up from(there is only one stop) the parking lot in Ballys. We reached LV late in the day, and the last shuttle to come back is at 11:00 PM. In order to use the shuttle, we only had a couple of hours to check out most of the things on the strip. Most of the shows like one at TI start late in the day, hence I wish they did provide shuttle for another couple of hours. Also, if they could have a couple of stops on the strip, that would be perfect. There is a McDonalds and Seven-Eleven nearby to shop for quick stuff.
“Good experience”
Very good location and place to stay
“Decent hotel in a quiet area”
The room was very nice, the hotel as well but the elevators very tiny and scaary because you morke than once thought you would be trapped in them so unless you had your luggage with you you took the stairs. The staff could have been a nicer and more helpfull but overall it was a nice hotel and they had a freee shuttle bus riding every hour to the "Strip" and home as well with a few hours that it wouldn't run. That was a plus. Overall a pretty nice hotel. Since it wasn't located on the Strip either it was a preyy calm and quiet area.
