Getaway

Posted 18-Apr-2015
Pros: Center of the strip, we wanted to see Jubilee and wanted to stay in the hotel that had the show.
Cons: The smell of cigarette smoke was a little different since there is no smoking in our home state in any buildings. Got over it quickly.
Location: Close to Caesar's Palace the Venetian, we wanted to see the fountains and all the art.
Went to Vegas for my birthday with my wife and had a great time. We hadn't been to Vegas in 25 years so it was all new to us and did not disappoint.

Not equipped for modern conveniences

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: Room was relatively big, but I'm use to NYC closet-sized hotel rooms.
Cons: Desperately needs plugs near bed to recharge devices. Resort fees should include unlimited wifi connections...I'm sure it doesn't cost them anymore!
Location: Location is good, central on the strip. Free parking attached to building!
My hotel experience was just ok. I knew that while i was booking, but you know how you set your expectations low (really low if you know it's just a 3 star rating to begin with) to be pleasantly surprised? Well, it didn't really even live up to my low expectations. The hotel is obviously in need of a reno. The hallways are old with dated and stained carpet. The casino itself can't filter out the cigarette smoke as good as the newer hotels. And the resort fee ONLY gets you 2 devices connected to your room wifi...not convenient when you're two people or a family with 2+ phones, an iPad and a laptop. Also, there are no convenient plugs for your devices to recharge near the bed, so you have to walk across the room to turn off your alarm in the morning. Inconvenient and not equipped for modern living. At least get those lamps with a plug at the base!

Great location, renovations have helped a lot

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: Location; price; value
Cons: They are still renovating in places, and so it wasn't quite so easy to get out to the Strip around all the construction
Location: Center Strip, so across from Bellagio Fountains, next to Paris, and across the corner from Caesar's Palace, so lots to do within an easy walk.
Stayed here for several nights for a conference in town, and I would stay here again. I don't hang out in my room much when I come to Vegas, so I just need a comfortable place that is functional, clean, and relatively convenient. Bally's fit the bill. It had gotten kind of worn down and was showing its age in previous years, but the renovations have helped raise it to a level where I am comfortable staying here. The pool area is a little small and lacking charm - with very expensive bad beer selections - but it was relaxing and not too crowded. WiFi was slow, and they only let you use two devices per day per room, which is a little limiting if you have a laptop for work and a smartphone for life and roommate with the same. Let's face it, though: the best thing about Bally's is the location. I think they's slogan on one thing in my room was "Stay in the Center of it All," and they are right. Their central Strip location makes it close to many of the best places in Vegas, and if you are here for a convention out at the convention center, then you can just hop on the monorail station in Bally's and get there in five minutes. So like I said, I would stay here again.

The Bally's resort is showing its age

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: Not very much
Cons: Bally's needs a make over from top to bottom.
Location: Good central location.
4 of us registered in a premium suite. Furniture is old. Looks like 60's. On the surface clean but needs deep down cleaning. The suite has a wet bar. We expected to find at least basics. 2 glasses at the bar and an ice bucket. Called for a corkscrew and were refused unless we ordered a room service bottle of wine. We booked for 4. They would only provide one rollaway. At reception. All was good then little support. paid over $1000 for 3 nights. Casino is dead. Seems everyone goes to other casinos to play.

Nice hotel for the money

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: The cleanliness of the room and free parking
Cons: Checking in took a very long time. They need more people working the front desk!
Location: Good location for proximity to shopping and other hotels.
My wife and I have stayed at most all of the hotels on the strip through the years. We recently tried Ballys and were pleased with the room and the hotel in general. For less than a hundred dollars per night we had a remodeled room with a refrigerator and a coffee maker with a nice view of the strip. Ballys is convenient for walking to the other hotels to catch shows or clubs. We would recommend this hotel to friends.
