“Very Disappointing.”
We were looking for a romantic getaway. So we paid extra to have a private bungalow in the pool compound. Well, we wound up with a 2nd floor "bungalow" and the pool compound wound up being family/kiddie land. The location was terrible. It cost a minimum of 10Euro to get anywhere. The staff was less than stellar with their information to the sites. The concierge was never there. When someone did show up she told me to find the english speaking concierge - she was only here for Germans. The gym didn't open until 8:30am which is way too late for an avid gym goer. Although the hotel was very nice - it was certainly outdated. There was construction going on which made the hotel look even shabbier.
“Huge disappointment”
the positives - nice view from the seaview rooms and bar facilities are good. the negatives - Customer service levels are awful with the over-riding impression being that the staff appear to view customers as an inconvenience that interferes with the running of the hotel! Also, don't assume they will have a room for you just because you have a pre-paid guaranteed booking....! overall - don't stay here unless you want to run the risk of a disappointing holiday experience. There are much better options nearby.
“Nice staff, hotel needs an overhaul.”
Palm Beach Hotel shows up in some guidebooks as a 4-star great place to go. It was alright, but certainly not 4-stars, and it is in pretty deserate need of an upgrade. Staff was very nice, food at the restaurants was good, but our room for a family of 3 in the main hotel, while clean, was very small and decor and furniture were dated - more like 2 star or less. We were there in offseason - while the Palm's beach area was relatively clean, the surrounding beaches were covered in garbage.
“never go back to that hotel even if you give me 1000000”
Never recommend this hotel to other even to enemy i will not do.
“Not as great as I expected”
Whilst the hotels public areas were very well maintained the rooms and corridors to the rooms are very tired, with worn carpet for example. The shower was a mystery alternating between very cool and scalding hot and the water would stop coming out every 4-5 min. Friendly staff and excellent service and breakfast was nice. Nice enough for a couple of days away but since there was nothing to see/do in the neighbourhood could have got very boring. Larnaca itself offered very little too. Hotel restaurant was nice for dinner and has themed nights but I'd recommend a walk along the seafront to the Mer Blue were the food was great, massive portions, well cooked and really quick service.
“Fantastic sea view rooms”
Nice looking hotel with good ration price/quality. Good fitness room and pleasant bar/restaurant alongside the beach (but service quite slow). Mainly intended for tourists, businessmen can also find here a pleasant stay with good wireless internet connection and easy access to the airport.
“Palm Beach”
Really nice hotel, beautiful pool & beach location.
“Four stars that were”
What was supposed to be a 4 star experience became a mediocre reality. The hotel looks good in the pictures, but it has not been renovated in 15 years (according to staff!), the quality of service is below expectation, and the food, nothing to write home about. When we arrived there, it felt like everybody was experiencing a hangover; they had to come to work, but they knew they cannot perform. The feeling was the same for the next 8 days. Long story short; think of this hotel a 2 star minus! You will get a better service and experience at a roadside motel!
“It was a decent place to stay”
On the hotel, it was pretty and well kept. The rooms, however was worn, dated and could use a bit of a spruce up. There were no mattress covers and the rooms needed renovation. The views were beautiful, the breakfasts amazing, the outside area was small but suited us fine. The service good, we even got help with cushions for our beach chairs. The prices of drinks was high, but then again you don't need to leave the hotel if you don't want to. It would have been nice to have a coffee/tea service as I get up so early. It seemed when one restaurant was open another was closed and that was true for the bars as well. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
