“Helpful staff but not a great hotel”

The man who checked us in was very friendly and could not have been more helpful, but overall the motel didn't impress me. There was a big gap under the door of the room, and as the walls were paper thin, we were disturbed by the noise of people in the corridor - walking, talking or using their mobile phones. The windows didn't keep out noise from the parking lot either, though this tapered off later in the evening (unfortunately there was a rowdy sports team staying at the motel). The towels felt rough, and the bath towel was the smallest one I've ever seen. The bed itself was comfortable, but I found the pillows to be very hard so I didn't sleep well. The motel doesn't provide breakfast, but it's next door to Subway, and there's a small store opposite in the gas station. My biggest gripe is about the shelf that held the TV - it was on a bracket on the wall, and stuck out over a chest of drawers, extending about another foot into the area you walk through to reach one of the beds. If you are using the drawers, the top of the chest, or have put your suitcase on the floor next to the cabinet, I guarantee you will bang your head on the corner of the TV shelf. I did, about four times, before I got into the habit of giving it an exceptionally wide berth. It was a real hazard.

“Perfectly adequate.”

The hotel is located 1 minute off of the highway and within 10 of campus and a lot of restaurants. The room was clean, although aesthetically antiquated, but all I needed was a bed. The room AC was welcomed as I got the temperature down to a nice 60 degrees for a good sleep. I will go back if I get into the Enduro again.

“JUST THE BASICS, SIMPLE, PRACTICAL”

We visited Laramie for business. ABI was referred to me by one of the locals as it was nearby to our visit. It is located next to I-80 on the west edge of town which is the older part. Easy access to/from hotel. I used the referral of a previous review to use the odd numbered rooms as they are opposite the interstate. Room 127 was clean, quiet, comfortable. Everything was in good working order. It is outdated, circa 1980s trim. Carpeting is fading (rose or mauve color) but still clean and good condition. Free wi-fi in room, cable tv. Vending, ice on main floor. No pool, exercise room or public computer, no b-fast. Subway right next door w/ b-fast sandwiches, McDs around the corner. Village Inn/Perkins other side of town, w/in 10 min drive. Outside does appear to need some maintenance, but nothing of drastic measures. A/C unit worked great. Bed was somewhat softer than I'm used to but comfortable. Bathroom a bit small but practical. Does have an exhaust fan. Water pressure excellent for shower. If you want a good stay and aren't deterred by a lack of lipstick & mascara, this hotel works very well for the price.

Area recommendations
If you want a newer hotel with a big price tag, closest to newer restaurants, more traffic, stay on the east side of Laramie. This area is less than 5 years old to accommodate the U of Wyoming. If you want a good, clean, quiet, comfortable stay and can be flexible with your eating & driving habits while saving a ton of money, stay at Americas Best Inn.

“Don't Stay Here!”

We reserved here because it was cheaper than others available for graduation, but won't stay there again. The building was run down, the linens were dingy and worn, the carpet was filthy. There wasn't a non-smoking room available when we asked, but the clerk said "its no different, only an ash tray on the side". Very heavy odor of smoke which gave me a migraine within a few minutes. The price for what we got was very high. We stayed the second night at another hotel that was only a little higher, but the quality was worlds apart, and the second one offered a full breakfast. If bottom line price is more important that your comfort this may work for you. I would only consider staying here again if I were desperate. Easy on and off the freeway, but not the best neighborhood.
