Located very close to U.W.

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, Wyoming atmosphere in the lobby.
Cons: Shower head was high, hard to reach, and had stray spray. New shower head would improve room quality immensely!
Got in very late and hotel staff were quite nice. I loved the bed (mattress). Nice hotel at very reasonable rates.

Pros: Staff was nice, but that was about it.
Only half the outlets worked and the shower did not drain. For that kind of money it was far form worth it.

I am so sorry that you did not find you stay satisfactory. Many of our outlets operate off the switches on the wall which makes them appear that they are not working. Our front desk staff would have been happy to assess the issue and ensure that they were working for you. Regarding the tub not draining. That is very unfortunate and we would have fixed it immediately. I do understand that you don't know until you are using the tub and it is inconvenient. We clean drains every month to try to make sure that they drain properly. Again, I am very sorry that you had these issues. We do hope that your fall has been enjoyable!

Comfortable, friendly, clean!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The pool was perfect (we have 3 young kids). The hot tub was incredible. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was the usual hot and cold items. The extras (soup, cookies, fruit), made us feel at home. The ONLY bad thing I can say is that the carpet was a bit stained. But when you have children, that's really not a concern. Definitely will stay here again if we're in the area!

Not too far from the madding crowd

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Though not very far east of town and its amenities, this motel was relatively quiet (our room faced the main drag). It is well situated near football stadium, gas stations, fast food, etc. Easy check-in and "Express Check-out". Go east on I-80 to visit Vedauwoo; and west to Centennial and the beautiful Snowy Range.

Quiet doesn't begin to describe it!

Our daughter is a student at the University of Wyoming, so we have occasion to stay overnight in Laramie several times a year. We always stay at the AmericInn because it is the best hotel in Laramie. The rooms are always clean and comfortable; the breakfast buffet is always nice, but the BEST thing? This is by far the QUIETEST hotel we have ever stayed in, period. You don't hear the traffic going by on Grand. You don't hear the person next door taking a shower, flushing the toilet, or slamming the door when they leave. For me that is the selling point.

Nice hotel...but pet friendly

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Very welcoming and nicely decorated.
Cons: Hotels that are pet friendly need to have rooms that have not had animals in them, just like there used to be some nonsmoking & some smoking rooms.
Location: Laramie is a beautiful spot in Wyoming. We ate dinner at Corona Village Mexican Restaurant and it was delicious!
We really enjoyed our stay, very nice hotel. Welcoming lobby and friendly staff. HOWEVER, I believe this hotel is pet friendly. This is nice for some people, but if you are like me and are allergic to dogs and cats, you will likely need some extra antihistamine during your stay. I had lots of sinus trouble, breathing trouble and very itchy eyes during my stay.
