Large, unusual (but in a wonderful way) hotel.

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: The ambiance, it was like walking in wonderland! The staff were absolutely marvellous.
Cons: Housekeeping arriving whilst we were getting ready to go out. This happened several evenings around 6.30pm
Location: Right on the beach. There is a lovely walk to the mariner Rubicon and beyond.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted courteously outside and our luggage was removed and taken straight to our room while we were escorted to reception which was designed in a way that details were taken and given with some degree of privacy. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne during the process. We had a suite which was very comfortable and clean although the view was dissapointing.

Excellent hotel in all respects

Posted 21-Apr-2015
Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The choice of food in the restaurants was excellent whatever time you ate. Excellent location, a gentle stroll from the hotel to either the lively bars of Playa Blanca in one direction or the pretty marina on the other. Would defintely recommend this hotel to families with children, although we went as a couple and did not feel out of place.

nice hotel with great location shame about staff

Posted 21-Apr-2015
Pros: the good qualities we'r the kids club ( mind you there was no lifeguard by kids club pool which i found strange) restaurant by main pool very good
Cons: the attitude of the staff, they seam a little stuck up and not willing to please cleanliness in rooms especially bathroom
Location: beach was lovely not much to do near by apart from ferry to fuerteventura
Shame about a few mishaps .. firstly i had booked and requested two junior suites with sea view at a high level, on arrival we got told we had been upgraded to yes slightly bigger rooms but with no upgrade advantages also with different layout but not on high level actually on low floor situated just above the pool restaurant with a bad outlook and a view only from the living room as window in bedroom looked out onto the inside of hotel which was also very noisy first thing in the morning 6am with staff cleaning and restaurant. we feel we was cheated off our rooms as the originally ones we booked is what we was expecting, high level with sea view! we complained and only got told there wasn't enough rooms available so they tried to please us with this 'so called' upgrade, and they could only move one room, which my Mother was not happy to do as we travelled as a family with two small children so we could be close together. In the end 2 days into the holiday ( once unpacked but not happy ) we had a call from the manager explaining these two lovely rooms had come available, which might i quote was exactly what we had originally booked, so excepting the apology and moving rooms we packed up all our stuff again and had to settle in once more…. the rooms we'r lovely but unfortunately this had upset our first few days of holiday already. well once settled i came across another problem which actually disgusted me and my 7 year old daughter! found dirty mens underpants hanging in bath

A beautiful hotel and location

Posted 18-Apr-2015
The staff are really helpful and it's ideal for children. The things we didn't like was how busy the pool was. Towels out by 9am or you didn't get to sit by the pool. The sofa beds were not very comfy and the beds were hard. The service in the non buffet restaurants was slow and unpredictable but the food was good. The location to the beach and town was ideal.

Classy Resort Hotel for Mature Couples & Families

Posted 17-Apr-2015
Pros: The staff, the decor, the up-market but relaxed atmosphere and the first class buffet breakfasts. A good choice of restaurants and it's really pretty.
Cons: The corridors and public spaces are chilly when the weather is cooler. Not sure there is much to be done about this except to take a wrap or jumper.
Location: Great walks along the promenade to the town and to the Marina Rubicon. Many decent restaurants and pleasant beaches nearby. Car hire cheap and easy
I took a lot of time researching the resorts and hotels in Lanzarote and concluded that Playa Blanca and the Princesa Yaiza were the ones for us. I was delighted with the hotel and the little town and my husband and I spent hours walking along the promenade in the sunshine and eating in the numerous little restaurants both in the town and in the Marina Rubicon. The Princesa Yaiza surpassed my expectations and is a beautiful and excellently managed hotel. We only did B&B but we did eat in the Japanese restaurant one evening, and it was a great experience. We also enjoyed lunch by the pool on a couple of occasions and drinks in the lobby bar, which was elegantly done. The weather was rather windy and a little cold for the time of year, and as the hotel is fairly open to the elements it is a bit draughty/chilly in the corridors, but that would be my only negative comment. The nightly entertainment was also of a high standard, given it's free. We went in term time, so there were only very young children in the hotel during our visit, but they seemed to be well catered for. An truly outstanding buffet breakfast is available each morning. I highly recommend this large, but classy, family resort hotel and would go again.

Tired and tatty.

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Pros: The proportions and grandeur of the original building, shame it has been allowed to slip..... probably in the under false guise of greater profits.
Cons: Needs a face lift/ over haul
Location: Small beach attached to hotel in a 1980's skegness type resort.
Probably very good for kids who tend not to look too deeply. But getting shabby and neglected

Excellent family holidays fully due to the hotel

Posted 14-Apr-2015
There wasnt much going on in Lanzarotte, so we knew we needed a good hotel. Princesa Yaiza turned out to be a lucky choice, it was more expensive than I would normally go for but there were not many choices left just over a month before Easter holidays. As you would expect most families were with kids, but the zones were well defined, so around a sea water pool was mostly a kid free zone, some of the evening entertaining was also kid free. We were with a 4 year old son and he had amazing time in akids pool, soft play and kikoland playgrounds next door, beach with white sand was not crowded and well maintained. Few restaurants arnd hotel along the promenade but the ones in the hotel were the best. Tapas plus was superb, we dined almost every day there, great dishes for 3-5 euros (small portions of fish soup, canarian potatoes, cray fishe etc) as well as risotto and steak for 14. Hotel stuff is very friendly and not invasive. Were given a birthday cake to our room from when our son turned 4, nice touch.

The hotel exceeded our expectations!

We were very impressed with our stay at the Princesa hotel. The facilities are excellent and the we found all the staff to be very helpful. My young 3 year old daughter loved it and we'd have no hesitation in recommending this resort to families.
