Average stay
Was apprehensive due to the negative reviews, but decided to book anyways. It was an average stay, the place is a bit run down but overall is fine. Hotels.com told me check in was 12 but when I got there I was told it was 3pm, so something to consider.
The room is basic but has all you need. I found the beds very uncomfortable even with a mattress topper, but that sort of thing is subjective. There were lots of those little ants which was very annoying (kept finding them on / in my backpack) but I heard it’s pretty likely to have them wherever you go on the island.
Staff were friendly, which was nice. There’s a free coach that can take you to / from the beach twice a day. The pool & surrounding areas looked clean, was great to see the pool bar had paper cups to ensure no glass was broken by the pool. Food was fine, they had a few vegetarian options at every meal which was great. The restaurant itself was clean and staff were hard at work.
