“Definitely go back again.”

I'm quite hard to please but I would definitely go back to Bellevue Aquarius. I was self catering and only ate occasionally at the snack bar so I can not comment on the food, but the staff were great.

“Would stay here again!”

Hotel staff informative and very friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. Apartment was very clean with everything needed for our stay. Maid service on 6 out of seven days. Complex clean and tidy but there are a lot of stairs, can be a challenge when very hot. everything you need to entertain you on your door step. Harbour area is lovely.

“A Very Relaxing Holiday”

A wonderfully relaxing week's holiday. We stayed all-inclusive, and the food was the best we have ever had on an all-inclusive holiday. The all-inclusive drinks were very good and the bar service was excellent, fast and friendly. The only drawback was the lack of a lift to take cases and/or pushchairs to the upper rooms. It seems unlikely that lifts could be installed, what about a porter service for arrivals?

“Value for money...”

This place was perfect for us. We are a young couple with no kids looking for a place to relax for two weeks. So I would not reccommmend this place to older couples or those with kids, as per the reasons below. If you are picky or fussy you will find stuff to complain about here. The decor is well dated and the place generally needs a refurb. However we spent minimal time in the room and just lay by the pool all day. If something is broken/dirty or missing all you have to do is say to reception and it will be fixed. Very helpful staff. We were not expecting much from the restaurant, but were quite surprised with the variety. Closing the all-inclusive bar at 11pm is just stupid, as it makes every one order multiple rounds at 10.55pm! They should extend it to 12am (like most other places) when the paid bar actually closes. Pros: Cheap Food Location (15 euros in a taxi from the airport & 5or10min walk to the main strip) Cons: All inclusive bar closes at 11pm No lifts in this six storey complex Entertainment (non existent for children) No air conditioning

“February to early march”

It is a three star hotel and is in a great location in the old part of town. There are a number stairs in the hotel and some people that couldn't carry cases were helped by the local staff, probaly for a small tip. views are great from some rooms however other rooms didn't have a great view. I was moved up from the second floor to one on the 3rd floor with a fantastic view, I loved it. The room quality is basic. The marbel around the bath has been repaired rather badly and the first time I used the shower It leaked. I simply dropped the small towl over the end of the bathtub and this prevented anymore flooding for the rest of the week.. I didnt bother complaining as the repair looked like it had been done a while ago. The was my only complaint really. Very quiet sleeping arrangements. It is an all inclusive hotel and one or two people were actively attempting to drink the bar dry most days. Apart from odd impulsive behaviour or high spirits (!) from guests occasionally it was very settled and felt safe. They have a security gaurd patroling in the evenings. There are more Irish bars than you can shake a stick at in the town. I have never seen so many. They seemed very friendly and families welcomed. I went to relax, chill out, read and catch up on some writing. I manged this with ease. It was also very reasonably priced which was a big plus. I had room and breakfast which for me was perfect.

“Just keep going back”

Stayed here on many occasions and always been well looked after. Some of the rooms are in need of refurbishment as they are looking very tired now.Convenient for the many harbour restaurants although the all inclusive meals are very reasonable both in price and standard.

“Nice Place - Great times”

This hotel is perched on a hill as are lots of hotels on the island. Lots of stairs so not disabled friendly. My mother who can't walk much but managed ok though. Most apts have a sea view, the views are stunning. To your right are dormant volcanoes, the harbour is right in front and on your left is the old town. The apts are cleaned everyday, they're comfortable. No aircon but a ceiling fan in the lounge and bedroom. Tv channels can be rented, we didn't bother, just had the free ones, only CNN and CNBC in english. Our apt had an iron + board, microwave, cooker, kettle and toaster. The bathroom had a sunken bath with shower. The pool is saltwater and very pleasant after a day in the sun, sunbeds are plentiful. There is entertainment most nights and quite a varied mix, reptile shows, magicians, singers etc and best of all bingo. Very funny - you'll see why when you go.

“Central location”

We stayed in the Hotel Aquarius in October 2011. The hotel is ideally situated for the old port and it's nice to be away from the main drag. Lovely restaurants nearby. The self catering chalets could be a bit better equipped and are looking a bit tired but ideal if you just want a place to rest your head and not be bothered with the regimentation of B&B. Not good if you have mobility problems as most chalets have steps up to them and there are no lifts.

“Good for a budget holiday”

The size of the rooms are fantastic, with a large bedroom (with huge wardrobe space), big bathroom, and great kitchen/living space. Also, they have lovely views. The service was fine, with bar staff very friendly. Also a great location. Unfortunately our bathroom was a bit grimy - with the shower not appearing to have been properly cleaned. Also, unfortunately, the beds had no mattress protectors, and sheets that were not fitted, so I woke up each day sleeping on a bare mattress, with the sheets having slipped off. Didn't feel particulrly hygenic. Only other dissapointing thing is that the pool closed at 6pm each evening, when the sun was still very much shining!

Area:

Puerto del Carmen, Tias, Spain: The island’s biggest and busiest resort has two very different faces. Along the beachfront is a three-kilometre long, unbroken strip of shops, restaurants and night spots. By contrast, the old port is a picturesque spot busy with fishing and pleasure boats, and overlooked by restaurants and bars, many occupying a lofty balcony position on the hill. Adjacent, the swish marina of Puerto Calero offers excursions by yacht, submarine or catamaran.
