“A great January break at Apartamentos Lanzaplaya in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote”

Excellent accommodation in a central location for a very reasonable price. If available, go far a room overlooking the central pool area which will be S or W facing - with plenty of people watching opportunity - especially when the dinner queue starts at ca. 17.45!

Area recommendations

The whole of lanzarote is fascinating and, to be frank, much more interesting than we expected. The main resorts are very "touristy" but not (in January) oppressively so and the competition between the huge number of restaurants in Puerto del Carmen makes eating out very reasonable indeed - even at the restaurants on the water's edge.

When to go

Mid 70's in mid January and wall to wall sunshine - great way to get away from UK Winter blues.

Getting around

Car hire to tour the island is very reasonable and petrol is 60% of UK cost.

Must see

The National Park with volcanoes and lava fields at Timanfaya is not to be missed. El Golfo is a delightful spot with dining al fresco to the sound of Atlantic waves and amazing scenery and rock formations. Jameos del Agua is another "must see".

Other

Take a day trip to Fuerteventura on the smallish boat from Puerto del Carmen - a great boat trip with dolphins on the way out and pilot whales on the way back plus a very helpful and attentive crew. We hired a car for a few hours (inexpensively) and saw the amazing sand dunes (definitely not to be missed), the fantastic views from Mirador de Morro Velosa and had lunch at delightful Betancuria (check out the Aloe Vera shop - also in Lanzarote).

“hotel trés bien situé, proche de toutes commodités”

séjour trés satisfaisant, nous pensons déjà à notre prochain séjour fin mai 2010. A la réception trés bon acceuil, les serveuses et femmes de ménages trés agréables. Aucun point négatif sur l'appartement, trés spacieux, grand balcon avec vue sur la mer et l'ile de fuerteventura. Nous étions en demie-pension, la nourriture est excellente, avec un buffet canarien chaque vendredi. Belles piscines avec de nobreux transats et parasols. A 200m on trouve supermarchés, restaurants trés abordables. Un endroit parfait pour passer des vacances reposantes et agréables. Le seul point négatif c'est que personne ne parle français.

Area recommendations

l'ile de lanzarote est magnifique, beaucoup de chose a voir, l'endroit qui nous la + plus c'est puerto del carmen pour sa belle promenade et ses nombreux restaurants. Costa téguise plus petit centre touristique que puerto del carmen à beacoup de charme, sens oublier de faire un petit détour par arrécife pour faire une petite promenade au castillo de s gabriel.

Traveller's tip

Je pense que lanzarote est une ile magnifique que nous pouvons apprécier toute l'année pour son climat tempéré.

“Aanrader”

Mooi appartementencomplex, schoon, dicht bij de boulevard. Heerlijk en voordelig ontbijtbuffet. Leuke plaats, mooie omgeving.
