“ok hotel”
although the hotel was ok. .you could here everything through the walls the milk in the room was off. It was nearly impossible to get the toilet chain to flush but other than that it was ok
“Friendly and comfortable.”
The hotel staff where very friendly and the hotel is in a quiet location but within easy reach of the M6. The area is quite rural and not many amenities close by but there is a shop and a number of pubs serving food in the area. The hotel does offer Breakfast and evening meals. The room was comfortable and clean but could do with a makeover as could the rest of the hotel. Its a bit of a mismatch of things as they seem to have added on and moved the reception etc. The room could do with a new carpet and a touch up with the wall paper and paint. The heat in the room was from a portable radiator. Luckily it worked well. Saying that it was very clean and I did sleep well.

The hotel is a converted farmhouse which in itself is unique, the main floor family rooms are nice seems they have the most recently renovated bathrooms. but the accomodation is basic no bells and whistles. it depends on your preference. the price is good. they have most mornings a full reasonably priced breakfast. the dinners i dont reccommend. There are numerous pubs in the area that serve dinner and it was only 20 miles to the coast. Its a good centrally located homebase for the lake district and wales. Scotland is a 2-3 hrs drive too much in a day.The front desk staff went out of their way to take care of our needs...
