Excellent hotel, staff very accommodating and helpful. Room layout was very good for family use; facilities in the hotel and room were good and very clean. There was a varied selection of foods for breakfast some which were freshly made on request. Bar and evening meals were to a high standard and reasonably priced. Overall a great experience.

“fantastic hotel and service”

can not fault the hotel, staff were more than helpful (we even had a smiley maintenance man who came to fix a bulb that had blown). We had a meal at the hotel although a little pricey food was excellent. Rooms are fantastic with very large double bed, bunk beds are small but as stated they are mean't for under 12's. My kids loved the tv's in the room and dvd players. Clean towels and bedding every day........great. Location is idea as it is quieter but not too far from attractions.

“Don't rely on room service!”

Mainly happy with our stay. Family room was excellent, well fitted out, clean, very comfortable bed and the kids bunks with TV's are a really nice touch. Check-in was smooth, quick and friendly. we were told that breakfast started at 7.30am on the Sunday morning but as my partner's daughter was dancing at the Winter Gardens early on the Sunday morning we needed to eat and check out earlier than that. we were told that if we requested a room service breakfast this would be delivered earlier. The next morning we were up at 6 and ready and waiting for our breakfast at 7. Nothing arrived. A call down to reception proved fruitles, they checked and called back to say they "didnt have a room service breakfast booked", they went to check again. "Breakfast can only be cooked after 7.30" was the ultimate reply. Had we actually known this we could have had a continental breakfast in the restaurant and been on our way. surely an earlier than normal breakfast request cannot be so difficult to deal with. All that said, our stay was good, drinks are a bit pricey but the hotel has a nice bar with a good and friendly mix of people (unlike other bars we have visited in Blackpool). I would recommend this hotel 100% if you have children under 12 as the family rooms are perfect for them, plenty of parking too and immediately adjacent to the Pleasure Beach. Just don't ask for an earlier breakfast!

“the big blue”

I tayed here one night with my two sons for a trpto th epleasure beach. I could not fault the staff and srvice we ate that night in the hotle and the food was excellent. breakfast i a bit busy but we weree seated and got our food no problem all tasty. would definately go back.

“Convenient and good parking”

We only stayed one night at the Big Blue but found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. Parking in Blackpool is hard to find, so the large carpark at the hotel is a real plus. The restaurant at the hotel proved to be excellent - both my wife and I enjoyed our dinner and can recommend eating there. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was a buffet with a wide range of hot and cold foods - all very nice. We had a room at the back of the hotel and the window faced the roller coaster. This did not prove to be a problem as the window was double glazed to greatly reduce any noise and the roller coaster closed at about 10pm. The location of the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from Central Pier, but it is right next door to Pleasure Beach, ideal for families. If I return to Blackpool I would stay there again.

“Excellent Hotel and location”

A clean, bright and modern hotel right next to Pleasureland. Staff were friendly and the room was excellent value. We'd definitely stay there again if we were to visit Blackpool again.

I used to hate Blackpool! Not so sure that I still don't? But I had one night at this hotel while I visited my girlfriend who was working and I changed my mind. True, I was a little phased when I saw the hotel, it is garish and very blue. I was also a little suprised to have a big dipper running about twenty feet from my hotel room window. A train and a couple of other racey rides were also right outside. You cannot imagine how close all this was, really close. But within a couple of minutes I was laughing. It was off the scale for novelty value. The noise was never intrusive and it all finished quite early. The room was just what I wanted, spacious, comfortable and clean. I found the staff to be very attentive and keen to please. I used the Gym facilities and they are good enough to get by with, a selection of aerobic machines and weight machines. Towels were provided and a cold water dispenser was on hand. Really quite classy. Stayed in the hotel for dinner, because the choice locally was a bit limited. The food was excellent! Not too exotic, but just what was needed. We had drinks, two courses (I had steak) and coffee and the bill was extremely reasonable. I found the Big Blue to be a cut above in every respect. Highly reccomended!
