Filthy hotel

Really disappointed with this place. When we first arrived my room was atrocious so we were moved. The next room was better but still filthy there was dust everywhere, rotten carpet and the bed was so uncomfortable. One night I had to wait 5 mins to be served at an empty bar whilst a waitress aired all the problems to a barman and he decided to listen to her moaning before serving me. Couldn't believe you have to pay to use the pool!! I paid 90 pound a night for this dump so didnt expect that. Wouldn't recommend but 2 plus points a member of staff on Reception called dawn (i think) was very helpful, she should maybe train the others and the breaky werent bad

Nice, friendly, welcoming hotel in ideal location

Pros: Ideal location. Ample free parking. Swimming pool. Very welcoming.
Cons: Decor needs updating but believe this is being worked on. Perhaps slightly more facilities in bedrooms... More tv channels etc.
Location: North end of Golden Mile but tram and bus stops directly outside. Short ride to Blackpool Tower and main shopping area. Overlooking see.
3 night stay with a friend in twin executive room with spa bath. Hotel very dated but welcoming. Bedding and facilities very clean. Ideal for short break as very good price in ideal location. Lovely swimming pool although changing rooms very cold. Breakfast excellent considering the amount being catered for. Overall experience very very good. We did actually book for 2 nights but extended to 3 as didn't want to go home. All staff very helpful and friendly.

Location: Conveniently located at the quiet end of the promenade with trams and buses available on the doorstep leading to all the usual Blackpool 'attractions'
The Norbreck is a perfect simile for Blackpool - this once great and respected hotel has deteriorated into something close to a wreck, much like the resort. The whole place is in need of significant investment and TLC but this doesn't appear to be forthcoming from the current owners who also own Pontins? The only highlight of the stay was the staff who were mostly pleasant, helpful and polite. We 'upgraded' to a 'superior' room, not sure what it was superior to, but I didn't see any 'upgrade'. The room was on the top floor with a sea view, but could only be accessed by a single lift which takes around 6 people, when it works. The bedroom floor sloped alarmingly towards the window, the furniture was from the 1940's and the bed was rock hard. An interesting idea on ensuite with a bath and toilet in an adjoining room accessed via a step, but the wash hand basin was inside the bedroom itself! No towel rail or hook, no heating in the bathroom and no way of closing and locking the window as the mechanism had rusted up. Same story with the bedroom window but probably as well as there was no other way of controlling the room temperature as the old radiator had no valves, but this meant that we couldn't shut out the racket from the 'entertainment' below! Breakfast was plentiful but organised along the lines of a school canteen with basic food that is clearly purchased to a strict budget. A pool is available but for an extra charge, towels are available for an extra charge etc.

Not for anyone hoping for comfort

Location: Lovely for a walk along the prom. Trams stop right outside Within easy reach of a couple of shops and bars Quite a way from the main centre
We spent 2 nights at this hotel, having stayed there several years ago. By the looks of it, it has not been updated during this time. From the moment you walk through the doors everything looks shabby, tired and outdated. The rooms, although clean, were very small and again shabby. The antique chair was ripped as were the curtains. The only good thing about our visit was the breakfast which was substantial and offered good choice. The dining room again was shabby, often food was left on the floor. The queuing system for breakfast was also a nightmare. I have stayed in many hotels over the years, even a 2 star hotel in Turkey, but this was by far the worst I have experienced. Sorry Norbreck, we won't be visiting again.

I never ever book this place again and breakfast was absolutely rubbish and time for breakfast for two hours,people need more time to get out of the bed and time should be 7 to 11am.

Nice hotel just a bit outdated

Me and my partner enjoyed our stay. Apart from one incident where the jacuzzi bath wouldnt turn off at 2 in the morning and other people were complaining about the noise it was making but i just believe they were picky old people. It wasnt our fault it was playing up and wouldnt turn off. It was just annoying that there was constantly a member of staff knocking on our room and on one occasion asking to 'come in' which i thought was rather rude and invaded our privacy. My partner was really angry about this and spoke to the manager the next day who kindly arranged free lunch for us for the inconvenience as we got no sleep and therefore could not wake up for breakfast as we were that tired. Also would just like to mention how the rooms are a little outdated...other than that the postitive things are the facilities such as hot tub, pool area, steam room and sauna which all looks fairly modern and fresh. The people who visited there and the staff were very polite. The entertainment was something good to sit down and chill out to whilst having a few drinks before going to your room. It was reasonably priced too so overall it was a good stay and i would return again in the future.

The people were lovely but it's a hotel for seniors ultimately. In wouldn't recommend to anyone under 50... I wouldn't recommend Blackpool to anyone either to be honest. Not a great choice for a holiday destination.
