Great value for money

Breakfast and room were lovely. Only minor complaints were small cracks on the ceiling, and being given dirty towels on the second day. That aside, the hotel was lovely and friendly, and an ideal location for getting around Blackpool itself.

noisy situation

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Nice clean sheets and bath towels.
Cons: Double glazing, air conditioning and clean windows that actually open fully. Control of who is entering the dining room and sitting where.
Location: Very central, close to all amenities and travel.
We tried to check in a bit early but receptionist didn't bother to check if room was ready, she just told us to come back after 3pm. We asked if we could leave a small overnight bag, but again no help offered simply told we could leave it in the lounge but they could not accept responsibility for it. The room was clean and comfortable apart from the fact the outside temperature was 28C and the inside temperature wasn't far off that as the window would only permit an opening of about 3 inches. The windows were filthy and we were glad we had not paid extra for a sea view. We were in room 225 which overlooked the rear of the hotel and also a noisy bar and a night club which on our mid week booking kept us awake with its music and customers till gone 3am!!!! I wish we had not bothered with the breakfast, with two cereals to chose from, overcooked hot food items and stacks of very floppy toast, juices and choice of hot drinks.

overnight stay

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: It was well situated for the north shore end of town, near nightlife, on seafront and north pier.
Cons: the décor in hotel needs a revamp.
Location: very good location. right near north pier with tram stop close by.
Two of us stayed in he hotel for first time over one weekend. we was given a not so nice room . we were in a room facing the inner part of the hotel .This was overlooking rooftops and had no view. our window only opened a few inches and was so stuffy inside room. the décor- e.g. ceiling/room needed repainting and decorating. when we asked to change the room we were told hotel was full. we did have good nights sleep and nice breakfast in morning. All staff were friendly and helpful. did have problems parking at the hotel as very few parking spaces.

worth the money

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: it is close to everything and has a car park
Cons: the breakfast
the room was clean and comfortable, but the breakfast was a bit below par as it was a bit greasy but edible and for the price I would stay again

Worst hotel experience ever

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: Checking out
Cons: Everything ( honestly )
Location: The location is ok as it is in the centre of the night life, but a long way from the pleasure beach.
The room was literally the furthest one you could get from reception. Wallpaper was loose on the ceiling. No milk to have a cup of coffee.2 lights didn't work. There was no room on the car park and i was told that parking is on a first come first served basis, it dosn't tell you that on any of the websites, so i had to pay £ 26 for 2 nights parking on the car park accross the road. The hotel is in complete disrepair with paintwork peeling and wallpaper loose. The food at mealtimes was inedible at best. I have stayed in this hotel at least 12 times and i will never set foot in it again. Please beleive me when i say that i havn't told you everything that was wrong with this dump. Suffice to say , do yourself a favouf, spend a little time and look for something better, and believe me there are plenty.

Metropole

Pros: location and car parking available.
Cons: as my comments above
Room was tired, needs updating. windows coming apart and filthy, cracks all over ceiling. black marks round the bath. Breakfast....hot food poured onto the food that was left and not rotated and cold toast that had been stood there for ages.

Large hotel on the seafront

Posted 05-Jun-2014
Pros: Central Location and last-minute price! Public spaces - large and with great potential
Cons: Attention to detail/cleaning and ongoing maintenance
Location: Blackpool
Arrived tired and weary after long drive and then given room furthest away from reception! (Receptionists very welcoming though). Hotel very outdated and needing some TLC. Looked for extra pillow and found one in wardrobe with 'used' pillowcase still on! Bathroom spotless though. Room a bit dusty but not like the one advertised on website. Opaque windows and noise of pigeons all through the night!
