"Young" Family illuminating experience;

Posted 01-Nov-2014
Pros: Friendly Staff and very nice Breakfast's
Cons: Car parking congestion, Maybe restricting the number of Non-resident parkers may ease this problem
Location: Traditional nostalgic re-visits for older members of our party ( 6 adults + 3 under 7's)
Hotel was comfortable and warm with Staff always pleasant, knowledgeable (of local events) and helpful throughout the Hotel, especially Reception and Kitchen areas; Excellent.

Never Again

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Everything
Location: The location of it I already knew had just never been in it.
It is very scruffy the carpets were badly worn and worse still badly stained walls weren't much better. The staff were equally scruffy and even rude to me and my granddaughter. We queued 25 minutes to get in the restaurant for breakfast only to find that it was only a third full of people eating and the reason we had to wait so long was because all the tables were full of dirty pots so no one could be seated. We were made to stand outside our room for 40 minutes which seemed like a mile from reception even though I asked on booking for a room close to a lift as I cannot walk very far all because the lady at reception couldn't be bothered to tell me the room key wouldn't be active for 20 minutes after sending us all that way knowing we wouldn't be able to use it. Then even when she said it would work it still didn't so another trip all the way back yet again to reception. When I finally got in after walking back and forward 40 minutes later I was in a lot of pain not the best start. Breakfast was just about passable once we finally got there. All in all never again not one good part.

Unhappy visit

Posted 27-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel was ideal and the car park was ample. The quality and the cleanliness of the room was below standard considering it was meant to be a premium room (I would not of liked to see the rooms that are not premium) The lounge was filthy and was cold and this was the only place that we could go and as the day that we where there Blackpool was suffering from the effects of the hurricane. The room when we eventually got into it at 3pm was freezing as there was no heating on at all even when we put the radiator up. The receptionist was friendly and allowed us to complete the paperwork to sort out our room as we where in a dance competition and needed to be in the room straight away at 3pm which was the earliest time we could go into the room.

Much improved I could hardly believe it!

I booked a twin room overnight for £39 and received this but with a sea view which I was not expecting. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and all the staff are just so friendly and helpful. Just a marked contrast to my stay a year earlier when the room smelt awfully of smoke, the restaurant closed early and the hotel tatty. Well done to the management. The staff on both both occasions were just lovely and helpful.

Average hotel went for a leisure break but was full of workmen mostly . Expect more for £200 for two nights with the Hilton at only £228
