“Will go back”

I booked a premier room and was pleased with its comfort and size. The advantage of booking this was it gave a room with a sea view and your meals could be taken anytime in a 2-3 hour period in a smaller resturant. Breakfast was 1st class and evening meals gave a choice of 3 mains and also salads. Hotel entertainment was excellent. The majoriy of guests were elderly. All in all at typical Blackpool holiday with that little bit extra.

“The Grand Back In The Metropole”

I have stayed here a few times this time it was great to see the hotel refurbished. All the staff were very helpful. The bedrooms are a lot better with the spa baths in them. All in all a very pleasent hotel to stay at.

“Location, location, location”

To be honest, my expectations of the hotel weren't high given the 2 star rating and the bargain price we paid. But all of our party, there were 6 of us, were impressed. The breakfast was top rate, the staff friendly and the evening entertainment something to behold! If you're in Blackpool though for the weekend, this hotel is right on the front, close to the Tower and staggering distance from the bars and food places. I would stay here again on any subsequent trips to Blackpool

“Reasonable Place to Stay”

Overall, I found my stay at the Metropole enjoyable and in keeping with my expectations. It's located in central Blackpool, within walking distance of Blackpool North train station, the opera house and Winter Gardens, and the promenade. The staff was considerate and helpful. The building is old but well kept. It isn't the quietest place to stay, as it is located close to several clubs, and while I was there several tour groups were also present in the hotel. I wouldn't recommend it for a working trip, as the rooms aren't set up for that (internet is only available in the lobby, no desks, etc.) but for a vacation it's a good place to stay.

“Good for a short stay”

We had a room overlooking the beach & North Pier which was great. The room was comfortable but we did not have a window that opened. Breakfast was buffet style and the food good quality. There were lots of amenities (including the Tower) within easy walking distance from the Hotel. In general the Hotel was ideal for us.

“better than expected”

just got the last parking space so get there early as they do fill up quick. check in promt even though they were busy.after reading many other reviews we were a bit apprehensive but a cheap rate swayed our decision. the location is the best in Blackpool and yes the hotel is looking a bit tired but not half as bad as we expected. our room didnt have a view but we did not mind that as all we had to do was walk out the door and it was there. the room was a good size with that much storage space i could have taken enough clothes too last us a month but wish i had taken a few spare coathangers. bathroom only had a shower but it was clean and very powerfull and we left our towels in bath as advised by another reviewer so they were changed. breakfast wasnt top notch but it was filling and plentyfull so we didnt go hungry. staff pleasant if you took the time to be pleasant with them.Didnt stay in for the entertainment so can not comment on that as there is soo much too do in blackpool anyway.we were on the third floor as this is smoking floor and it was great not to feel like a social leaper and have a smoke in room.only gripe is that the cafe closed at 5pm so if you wasnt booked in for evening meal you could not get a bite to eat but many food places close by soo not too bad.Would stay again if got good rate

“impressed and better still to come”

arrived and had expected to be disappointed, however this hotel is looking good and will be great when refurbishment finished. Our room had been refurbished, had a lovely sea view, the room was fresh and clean it had a new jacussi bath and shower installed. Food good and plenty of it, mostly self service which suited us, mentioned one night that I wasnt keen on my choice of pud and the waiter said feel free to choose something else as leftovers were scrapped. Entertainment provided was really good, good variety over the time we were there, definately stay again...
