“neither a 3 star nor a bech hotel experience”
- Automatic Hotel door is manual. - Breakfast hotel became a la cart - Central heating didn't work and staff don't know how to make it work - dirty carpet
“Good Value”
When we book a reasonably priced hotel, this is the sort of place we hope to get. Friendly, helpful reception and staff, comfortable and clean room and an excellent full breakfast. It's an easy 15 minute walk along the sea front from the town centre but there are trams and buses right outside if needed. WiFi doesn't work in all rooms but is good in the bar and lobby.
“Cheap . . . but could have been more cheerful!”
Overall represented reasonable value for money as got room at good rate. Was a bit disappointing - although seaview room, as booked, small window and seaview would have looked better if window had been cleaned recently. Bed was comfortable but room a bit drab. Generally felt hotel had 'seen better days' and surprised it had still retained its three stars. Apart from breakfast, no food at all available. Staff seemed surprised when asked if they supplied bar snacks. Apparently due to some sort of kitchen refurbishment. Breakfast OK and eatable (apart from the sausages) but choice very limited. Staff a bit unprofessional. Payment was requested on leaving although we had already made advance payment and had to produce confirmation email as proof. Receptionist did not apologise for error or even ask if we had enjoyed our stay. Location OK as very near tram stop and we made use of all day travel pass - buses and trams provided excellent service. Parking limited - we managed so get a space as had arrived early. Whole place could do with a little more loving care and atention to detail.
“clean and comfortable”
The hotel was good value for money, the room was a bit small, but was bright with two large windows that opened, it looked like it had been updated in the last few years. very clean. service was helpful.
“No problems here”
My fiancee and I had a very pleasant four night stay at Chequers Plaza. Our first impression was very good, and check in was quick, and the staff very pleasant. There were no issues with parking with an adequate sized car park, which was never full for the duration of the stay. Our room, with a sea view was very clean and fresh, and was huge! We were pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of the flat screen tv. We were also very pleased to locate a fan, as it was the hottest week of the year, and the room would have been unbearably hot without it. Breakfast was adequate, with a self service buffet of both hot and cold breakfast, with a decent selection. We were told of the 24hour bar available in the hotel, but we didn't actually use it. The main drawback is that the hotel is so far away from the tower area, a good half hour walk each way, so it would be wise to invest in a travel pass to save the blistered feet.
“Good hotel”
Hotel condition was decent, the rooms were a little warm, they gave us fans. The service is excellent. Everyone always had a smile on their face. anything we needed they got for us without a problem. I would stay here again.
“okay for 1 night”
We stayed for one night, Easter Sunday, I was expecting something similar to a Premier Inn - thats what they compare themselves to on their website, unfortunatly I would have rather stayed there. Check in was quick and the staff we came across were very pleasent, breakfast was okay and it was in a good location BUT the room was soooo tiny and was like a sauna, even the towel rail in the bathroom had been left on. The LCD TV on the wall was a nice touch, but it didnt move so the view from the bed was distorted and with only 2 plugs in the room we had to fight over the TV, fan or the hairdryer! The bedroom window was open to the lovely views of pigeons but it wouldnt lock. We also couldnt get on the car park. The hotel must be very popular given the conversations I heard other guests having, but at 32 we were by far the youngest people we saw staying here...maybe we just got a bad room??
“definitely go back again”
lovely clean friendly welcoming hotel food and service really good cant wait to go again
“very friendly staff very helpful”
arrived at hotel, checked in and a member of staff informed us that are room was cleaned and ready for us,when we got into the room the bins was not empty they were full of empty bottles, the bathroom wall radiator was coming lose from the wall and wallpaper was coming off the wall
“A Great Hotel”
We arrived at the hotel and was greated by welcoming staff, we were given our room key and a car parking pass; i was impressed that there was off street parking in close vicinity for residents only as have found parking in blackpool difficult in the past. when we go into the room we found it to be very well equiped, great cleanliness and well finished.
