Privately owned; caring staff

Posted 06-Oct-2013
My wife, dog and I are staying here for about a week until we find an apartment. We've been here three days, two nights so far and it's exceeded our expectations. It's privately owned and I can tell that the staff really care. They're very friendly and super-accommodating. The room we have is quite big and includes a couch, fridge, microwave, desk, dining table, and TV. The WiFi (mostly) works great and is very fast. Lots of channels on the TV. Very clean. The bed is kind of hard but that's like a minus 0.1 on a scale of 1-10. The walls are not thin but if the neighbors yell, we can hear it. Not that there's a lot of crazy, loud people here- there aren't. Again, not really a detracting point. Safe area. Best hotel we could hope for in our current situation. They gave us an extended stay discount.

Stay here if you love the smell of urine.

Posted 10-Sep-2013
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Smell and cleanliness.
One room smelled of urine and the other of mold. Found hair in bed and boogers on the lamp. Terrible place to stay. Would not recommend it.

smells Smokey, hotel.com called to make sure my parents can have a handicap and pet approved room, but when we arrived they said no dogs in that room. We had to argue for over twenty minutes and hold up the line. They called the owner and made me talk to them(POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE) and she let us do it for an extra 25.00. They said that the rep. from hotels.com did not ask about the dog.BE SURE IT IS WRITING IF YOU GO THERE. Not a good place to stay if you do not SMOKE!!!!!!!!

No coffee pot in room (had to ask for it).

Posted 05-Sep-2013
Pros: Personnel
Cons: Coffee pot in room, more coat hangers, a clock radio, longer breakfast hours, newspapers in lobby (had to go across street to buy one).
Location: Location was OK, Had to use the car to get anywhere, shopping, breakfast, lunch, dinner (unless you like hamburgers).
No coffee pot in room (had to ask for it). Breakfast ended too soon (should end at 11am)

Dumpy hotel; dumpier neighborhood

Posted 03-Sep-2013
Pros: The lady in reception was very nice
Cons: The building; the neighborhood
We were not familiar with this section of the Tacoma area when we booked. The room smelled of mildew and there were holes in the wall. The mattresses were apparently well worn. The lady at check in was very pleasant and helpful but the neighborhood was not the best, My wife felt uncomfortable walking from the room to the breakfast area. The price was way too high!
