We stayed for 3 nights while in the region to do wine tastings in the Umbria and Tuscany wine regions. Our room was very nice and they upgraded us as there was availability on our check in. The air conditioning was great, which you won't always find in Italy and the bed very comfortable. The restaurant on site is very good but a bit pricey. The specials change daily and the one's that we tried were delicious. The grounds are expansive and very pretty. The pool is also very nice and we spent time there each day. The hours aren't great b/c of the requirement to have a lifeguard, but the 10am to 7:30pm was sufficient.
We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room opened up to the pool, which was big enough for a good swim. Everything we wanted was there and clean. We had a truly pleasant stay.
Fantastic location, situated right on the lakes edge means there is usually a welcome breeze (it was stifling hot just a few streets away). The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The hotel is well situated to explore the town and local area. The town of Passignano is charming, with a good variety of bars, restaurants and shops. The medieval old town is simply stunning and has fantastic views over the lake and surrounding area. We took trips across the lake to Isolo Maggiori using the local ferry and also took a train to beautiful Cortona, the public transport is very cheap and efficient.
The pool looked beautiful and was well maintained and cleaned daily, although unfortunately we didn't get to use it due to a pressing schedule. The rooms are clean and although basic were comfortable, the blackout shutters were very welcome as was the air conditioning.
The restaurant situated on the lake behind the hotel was absolutely lovely. We ate there on two occasions and the food was superb as was the service, and the prices were very reasonable. We ate outside on both occasions and although there are a lot of mosquitoes in the evening they were all attracted to the lights and we did not get bitten once (unusual as my husband usually gets eaten alive).
In summary, a lovely friendly hotel in a fantastic location. Facilities are basic but comfortable. We are already planning our next trip and look forward to being back in beautiful Passignano soon

"Beautiful hotel for a truly relaxing experience."
We had a very relaxing break with delicious food and wine, a good massage and friendly, helpful staff. While it was a luxurious experience, it was not brash, was small and understated.
We were able to visit Assisi and Perugia which were within an hour's reach by taxi.
We hadn't appreciated how secluded it was and how reliant we would be on a car or taxi to get to almost anywhere else. The hotel's website mentioned a shuttle; that, however, just meant that they were able to arrange a taxi.

Italy’s fourth-largest lake lies amid olive groves and quiet farmland rich in wildlife. Pleasure boats ply to offshore islands or fish for eels, and shingly beaches line the reed-fringed shores. The fortified town of Castiglione del Lago is one of Trasimeno’s most popular resorts, its castle a setting for summer concerts.
