“Great Get Away”

Had a great time. Owners really care about your happiness with stay. So nice they gave us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. The little touches made this a memerable stay. I will never stay at a chain hotel in tahoe again. Walking to gondola/food/movies/coffee. Staying in room next to people with kids and only heard a little peep! Beds very comfy and cozy. Thanks so much. Coming back again with our kids for sure.

“Tiny Jewel”

This is one of those small "old fashioned" motels which gave Lake Tahoe its charm before the mega hotels and resorts razed so many to accomodate their huge structures. Family owned and operated, you get the feeling that you are an important guest. They had thoughtful touches that made us feel special and that they cared - chocolates and Perrier before bed, a "for the road" bag when we left, snacks for breakfast and very friendly, knowledgeable staff. There are only a few units (14?) and while the exterior probably looks much as it did decades ago (a plus), it was in very good repair. The rooms have been remodeled and were very tastefully done - got some decorating ideas for my own home. The rooms are small but uncluttered and have a microwave and small refrigerator. It is non-smoking so the rooms were fresh. Parking is at a premium but I think everyone was accomodated. We had nearby access to a lovely private beach on Lake Tahoe with a restaurant and water-toy as well as chair & umbrella rentals. The Heavenly gondola is a block or so away as well as great shopping & restaurants, etc. Unfortunately, due to the downturn in the economy (as everywhere), the neighborhood has hotels that are closed and untended which detracted from the ambiance, but we still felt very safe. The shower heads were low and the flower boxes could have used some real flowers like the hanging baskets have. All in all, a very memorable and great experience - we'll definitely go again.

Area recommendations
Within walking distance is access to lots of entertainment, shopping, dining and outdoor activities. The ski resort (Heavenly) has fabulous winter skiing and summer hiking with a big deck to view Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area on the way up to the top of the gondola lift (enclosed). If you like casinos and craft fairs (might be just in the summer), sleigh rides in the winter, they were a few blocks away. A challenging golf course right next to the lake is nearby where they also host celebrity events. There are big old fashioned paddle boats to ride and other water craft to rent close by and just so much to see and do. As you can tell, we come to Lake Tahoe as often as we can - on a clear day which is almost all of the time - the lake is a breathtaking sapphire blue and pristine (and very cold!).

“Suite Suited”

I was traveling with my parents, who are in their 80s, and the suite with the king bed in one room and a double bed in the other room for me suited us just fine. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room for leftovers from restaurants for reheating later for a snack. The innkeepers are exceptionally conscientious, as other reviews have noted. Their restaurant recommendations -- Fresh Ketch and Beacon Grill -- were real winners. We loved eating outside and lakeside.

“Small but lovely”

You wouldn't call Paradice Motel luxurious, with its smallish rooms and retro/dated feel. But sometimes it's the details that count and make your stay pleasurable; such was the case. The innkeepers are friendly and accommodating, and their attention to little details, like sweets on the bed with turndown service and complementary water, make you feel like you're staying at a four-start resort.

“Great staff, great location, great time”

This place has a great location a wonderful staff. They try to make your stay very personal and definitely go the extra mile to make it more than a motel. I would highly recommend staying there when in the area

“Perfect hotel in tahoe!”

I went with two friends to Lake Tahoe and choose to stay at Paradice. It was the perfect location! It was close to wal king to the private beach and up to town. Everyone at the hotel helped give us ideas on things to do. We loved the treats of fruit and candy in the room each day. This was exactly like what we were looking for in our hotel.

Area recommendations
South Lake tahoe was perfect for those looking to hike, bike and relax. Great restaurants in the area also! Lots to do!

“We Would Definitely Stay Here Again! =)”

My fiancee and I chose this motel due to the excellent reviews we had read about it. This is a qaint and cozy boutique motel in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. It is walking distance to many attractions, i.e.- Heavenly Valley Gondola, restuarants, shops, casinos, movei theaters, etc. The rooms were very modern with a type of Island theme; and they were very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. And the owners went out of their way to make this experience very personal and special for us. There were nice candies and Perrier water bottles placed in the room each night. Moroever, you would come back and there would a note on the bed and a towel in the shape of an elephant with two little star stickers for eyes....just nice little touches like that. Very cute. We definitely received a personal touch and felt like important customers. Moreover, the soaps and beauty supplies in the bathroom were organic, which was appreciated. We would definitely stay here again. The Paradice Motel certainly lived up to its reputation. We loved it! =)

Area recommendations
I would recommend going on one the MS DIXIE Cruises out of Zephyr Cove. (It is docks about 5 minutes away from the motel.) This 2 hour cruise takes to through beautiful Emerald Bay. It was a wonderful experience. Just be sure to bring your camera! =) Also, if you can, drive over to Virginia City, NV. This historic miner's town was founded in 1859 and it is like being back in the old west, with the saloons and wonderful gift and antque shops.
