“good, affordable, family friendly place to stay..”

..a nice clean, affordable motel. Overall satisfaction is good. We loved having a room w/ view of lake, nice hot tub and heated pool. We loved their belgium waffles in the morning, but not enough tables to sit at. Staff was friendly and helpful and rooms were very clean. My husband loved the big screen tv ONly things we didn't like. The beds are just ok..not great. We didn't like the bathroom...toilet had no lid (like a public restroom toilet) & very loud flush. It can get noisy at night w/ everyone flushing, pipes are loud. I suggest you bring ear plugs if extra sensitive to noise. Also no place to hang towels. Overall we would stay there again since it is a family friendly, great rate & staff....& def. the breakfast! Also next to a tiny hole in the wall mexica place...great food! Also very close to KIngs Beach which we loved.

Area recommendations
I would recommend Kings Beach up the street. you have to play $8 to get in w/ car, but worth it. very clean and lots of beach..soft sand & changing rooms. We loved that beach and many great places to eat. Jason's restaurant very good and Blue Onion Cafe for breakfast/lunch.

“Very clean, basic, friendly hotel that met our needs as place to sleep & shower”

Very clean and basic place. We spent the days outsides so just needed place that had bed & shower with good location. This had that. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Area recommendations
If you like outdoors I suggest mountain biking excursions from 'Flume Trail Bikes'. They do rentals and shuttles. The beaches, especially on the Nevada side are awesome.

“Loved this place!”

This little lodge sits up at the top of Lake Tahoe right across the road from the lake and a nice little beach with picnic area. We were lucky enough to get an upper room with a view of the lake. I can't say enough good things about this place! The room was comfortable and clean, equipped with a little kitchen, nice balcony with a table, outdoor swimming pool and hot spa, wonderful breakfast buffet, excellent location, good restaurants nearby, and affordably priced. We will definitely be staying here again.

“Free Breakfast and Hot Tub - Can't go wrong!”

Great place and close to Northstar. Stayed here for a quick 2 night weekend snowboarding trip. The free breakfast definitely helps you get the morning started right! Hot tub after a long day of boarding is a great plus too!

“Great place”

I am happy to report that the hotel staff was very helpful and polite and the rooms were very very clean. You can tell the hotel is a bit older, the sign out front is weather worn and faded but the rooms are not. Fresh paint, clean bedding, spotless bathroom. I have stayed in some old hotels where you can smell a musty stink when you walk in but this room did not have that- it smelled fresh and clean. It had a large flat screen TV, a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge which worked perfectly for our 5 night stay and a view of the lake right across the street. Only complaint was the bed was a bit too soft for my husband. The lady at the front desk recommended a couple restaurants and they were all yummy. Not a 5 star fancy hotel but for the great price you get more than you payed for. I will go back again.

“Clean and comfy”

I've got nothing bad to say about this place. It's nothing particularly memorable, but served us well as a place to relax and recover from long days out snowboarding. It was clean, it was comfortable, and there was a big flat screen tv in the room. The continental breakfast was slightly above average. The hole-in-the-wall Mexican place next door had surprisingly good food. We were there over New Year's, so of course we paid more than I would have liked for the privilege of being at Lake Tahoe for the holiday, but that was to be expected.

“Cosy motel with all the amenities you need”

We stayed at Firelite Lodge in January 2011 for 3 nights. Although dated on the outside, the rooms were impeccably clean, warm and comfortable with two queen beds and a beautiful view of the lake. We especially enjoyed the huge flat screen TV with cable channels, the outdoor hot tub and the self-made waffles for breakfast (yum!). Great location with an easy 10 minute drive to Northstar and a few minutes drive from restaurants in town. Highly recommended as a great value place to stay.

“Yes, we would go back. The waffles for breakfast where awesome!!”

Very clean, comfortable bed, nice view of lake. Not fancy, but nice for the $. The walls could have been better insulated. Staff very nice.

“Good location on the lake”

The hotel was very clean and in good repair. Staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a nice beach directly in front of the hotel. The rooms with a view of the lake are the most desirable. We would happily go back. We liked the mid-century steak house right next to the hotel too.
