This South Lake Tahoe Embassy Suites offers 398 guest suites in a nine-story building with three skylight atriums.

The California suites are 550 square feet with either one king bed or two queen beds with mattress-top padding. Living rooms include queen sofa beds and upholstered chairs.

Embassy Suites Hotel Lake Tahoe Resort amenities include two TVs with pay movies, two phones with voice mail, and Internet access via dial-up, the TV, and wireless network (surcharge for all). VCRs, DVD players, and bathrobes are available on request (surcharges for all).

Also included are tables and chairs, microwaves, compact refrigerators, and coffeemakers. Ski racks are provided in all suites, with space for gloves and boots.

“Water was luke warm and low pressured....could barely enjoy a shower--not impressed!”

Water was luke warm and low pressured....could barely enjoy a shower--not impressed! The overall hotel was great with excellent service but the water in the hotel had low pressure and never did get hot enough to enjoy a shower. I called the service desk, and a tech came out and, " in 20 minutes, and you should have hot water".....nope! Never did happen! We stayed 2 nights, and this was the only bummer! I'm checking in to the Marriot Timber next time!

“Nickel and Dimed but still a great place to stay!”

Charged $25 a day to park there without another option. Then they wanted another $40 for a rollaway bed. Unless you got an omelet breakfast was usually cold. The manager reception and free cocktails were awesome and a nice way to end your day!! I would stay there again but would need to save more money....

“Birthday Celebration Trip”

I took my girlfriend on a birthday trip to the Lake Tahoe area. Our stay on Sunday night was exceptional. We enjoyed the Manager's special of drinks and snacks, and a cooked to order breakfast the next morning. The Atrium was an especially nice place to have enjoyed both of these perks. The staff, in all areas of the hotel, was professional, helpful, and courteous. We look forward to staying here in the future.

“Wonderful hotel, terrific location, outstanding service”

We had a wonderful stay at the South Tahoe Embassy Suites Hotel. The suite was spacious and very comfortable, the service was impeccable, and the individually ordered hot breakfast was to die for. We also appreciated the happy hour with free drinks from 5:30 to 7:30 on Saturday night. Additionally, the location was terrific, approximately 100 feet from its entrance to the entrance to the Harrah's Casino. We found the $25 parking charge to be very reasonable, particularly knowing that our car would be safe and easily accessible. This is a very well run hotel at which we had a wonderful time, and will definitely return in the future. I would give it a solid 5/5 rating.

Area recommendations

One of the principal reasons we selected the Embassy Suites was its location, i.e., immediately adjacent to the Harrah's Casino, and excellent shopping within easy walking distance.

When to go

We were in South Lake Tahoe the weekend before Halloween, which is between the summer and winter prime seasons. The trafffic was comparatively light and yet the weather, though cool in the evening, was still very pleasant during the day. I would definitely pick this time again.

“Fantasic place!!!”

Embassy Suites Hotel Lake Tahoe Resort is by far one of the best hotels in the Lake Tahoe area. Each room is a two room suite with all the comforts; our room even had 2 large screen TV's. The room comes with a cook to order breakfast served every morning. The hotel is close to everything shops,casinos, resturants and a supermarket. When we come back to Tahoe this will be our first choice of a place to stay.

“The center of everything in South Lake Tahoe”

The room was clean, stocked and comfortable. The staff were professional and courteous. The food and drinks at the "Manager's Reception" were great. Most of all, I felt safe. The rooms are well insulated so it was quiet inside when busy and noisy outside. The location was literally right in the center of everything, so no driving was necessary. Everything was within walking distance. Excellent experience

“Tahoe October”

The Parking staff was exceptional even though I arrived on a motorcycle. The check-in process was very friendly and speedy. The complimentary breakfast was decent and there appeared to be a good ratio of guests to wait and cook staff. Much better than similar Hotels in Reno. Overall, the experience and of course the surroundings were excellent.

“Older hotel....needs renovation”

The Embassy Suites was in great shape....about 20 years ago. The fixtures, furniture, etc were showing "their age". I can't beleive they're asking the price they did. I normally like the Embassy but I wouldn't go back to this one for the same rate. The complimentary breakfast was extremely crowded. Even if you follow the suggested "get there early" time.
