“Nice”

The Hotel Boston is a reasonably-priced alternative to the "resort" hotels in Stressa. It is located close to the lake and to the center of town. It isn't a luxury hotel, but for the price, it is very nice. The staff is helpful and kind and we enjoyed our stay

Area recommendations

You must see the islands and the monestary in the southern part of the lake, but taking the ferry boat to Switzerland was a long, disappointing trip.

“Good value”

Stresa is an excellent base from which to explore Lake Maggiore and has a very good range of restaurants. The hotel is conveniently located, one block back from the lakeside - and we were glad that we had booked a room with a lake view. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. The continental breakfast was fairly basic, but adequate. The hotel does not have its own bar, but many are within easy walking distance. Although it was more basic than some of the more grand neighbouring hotels, we would happily go back.

Area recommendations

We enjoyed the cable car and chairlift trip from Stresa. A visit to the Borromean islands is a must and if you have a spare day, don't miss the Maggiore Express. (We took the train to Locarno and returned to Stresa by 3 hour boat trip.It was a memorable day!)

“Good location, basic hotel but an ideal base”

We stayed at the Boston Hotel in Stresa, for 8 nights. The hotel is fairly basic, but compared to the prices of the bigger hotels in the srea, we got a reasonably good deal. We were really looking for a good base in a location which was central, near the amenities and allow us to travel around easily. We definitely had this with the Hotel Boston. We were 5 minutes from the train station, 5 minutes from the Ferry Terminal, and nearby bus links. The staff were very friendly, although not speaking a great deal of English, they were always very courteous and it was a good opportunity for us to try out our limited Italian! Any problems we had, they were quick to assist. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and we would probably book again.

We felt it was worthwhile not to hire a car, and used the train, bus and ferry links instead which made our trip enjoyable, stress free and let us see so many sights with no distractions!

“Good Location, but not impressed with hotel”

The hotel is in a great location to both the train station and the center of Stresa, boat docks, lake front, etc. The room we had was not real clean, not even a single glass (even plastic) in the room. Towels were pretty scary old. The front desk was friendly and helpful and the breakfast that was included was just fine.

“Hotel Boston Stresa Italy”

The hotel is located fairly close to the town centre(easy walking distance 5min) The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and speak good english.The breakfast was cereal,bread rolls cold meat and cheese , yogurt, cake, coffee,tea,juice and adequate.The rooms are a bit small but clean, the view of the lake and mountains made up for that.We had no problem with the parking in the street outside after 5pm but in the day the local workers parked there .

A must is the boat trip to see the three islands, and if you have transport to visit Lake Orta and Orta itself including the monastry on top of the hill+

“Isolation phonique”

L'ensemble de la prestation est correcte, très bon accueil. Ce que l'on peut regretter c'est le manque d'isolation phonique des chambres, on entend tous les bruits (volets, portes, toilettes, moment d'intimité ....).

“Hotel BOSTON STRESA Lac Majeur”

Bien situé face aux Iles Boromées, départs bateaux proches. Chambre agréable avec petit balcon vue sur le lac. Calme. Chambre supérieure confortable et bien équipée. Parking annoncé gratuit mais dans la rue s'il y a de la place, sinon 3 places payantes dans cour privée non fermée à 10 euros la nuit!!!!!!!! Accueil correct mais peu souriant et strict. Pas de restauration : nombreux restaurants dans le vieux Stresa à 10 minutes à pied. Région superbe.

Area recommendations

Les îles Boromées impérativement ! Au mois de mai, floraisons de toutes parts.
