“Perfect!”
What an excellent hotel, the staff were welcoming and helpfull when needed but in the background when not. The rooms were spacious and views superb, the location meant there was no traffic noise but you were only a short walk to the ferry terminal. There was a great feeling of space when you were having breakfast, lazing in the garden or sipping cocktails on the terrace. I would go back now if I could.
“Simply Superb Hotel”
The Grand Hotel Majestic has a superb quiet location on the shores of Lake Maggiore with beautiful views across to the Borromean islands. The hotel staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms were always efficiently cleaned with fresh bedlinen and towels on request. Facilities are ideal with a spa, sauna, small gym and indoor pool onsite. An apperitif on the Terrace in the evening watching the sunset is exquisite. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for it's first class customer care, quality of service, decor and rooms. Ideal for a special occassion or romantic break.
“Idyllic setting and wonderful service”
We stayed at Majestic for our honeymoon, and we could not imagine a more perfect setting for our week away. The Rough Guide book was correct when it stated that the staff were friendly yet removed enough to make their role seem effortless. They were professional and attentive; we never had to wait for anything. The hotel is easy to find and away from traffic noise. It sits right on the lake shore in what is one of the best settings we saw. We would recomend it to everyone - it's an experience NOT to be missed.

Calm efficient check in. Discreet well trained staff. Lovely bar and lunch terraces. Easy access to swim in lake.
“Great, peaceful hotel”
We stayed in a Superior Double room with a partial lake view for 10 nights. Definitely pay for the view and a nicer room if you can afford it, I'm not sure of the quality of the classic rooms and the non-lake side of the hotel has no views. The room was clean and comfortable with a mini bar, decent shower, small TV and DVD player. The wifi was reliable but expensive (1 hour free, 5 euros for 24 hours, 10 euros for 3 days and 20 euros for 7 days). The hotel in general is very grand, with amazing views over the lake from the gardens, terrace and breakfast room. The hotel is in a very quiet location and a 10 minute walk from Pallanza and the ferry point. We were surprised at how quiet Pallanza was as a resort, if you want shops and a nightlife this probably isn't the place for you. The only downsides were occasionally slow service at reception and at breakfast and the cost of the wifi.
“Nice, great views but....”
We went for a lovely get away and wanted to have views, spa and extra nice service.... The views were lovely. The entrance to the hotel is just what I'd hoped for... through the gracious lobby looking to the lake. Beautiful pool and lawn too. The service was good, and helpful when we asked. But I would say that we never felt very spoiled or special. The spa was very mixed in skills. Good on massages, and poor on facial/pedicure. We went for 'only' a superior double room... and while nicely refreshed, it was the basics done well, nothing special. all this said, we did enjoy it and will likely be back, but might check out others in the area with similar price and ratings.
“Not overly impressed”
Not overly impressed with service and room quality. Terrace is brilliant though!
“Great location but poor rooms”
This hotel has a great location on the edge of Lake Maggiore. The terrace restaurant is very good and the service in the restaurant is excellent. However, the lake view room was cramped and the bed and pillows were extremely poor quality and very uncomfortable. These shortcomings spoiled what was otherwise a good hotel. I will not be booking it again.
