I liked: - cordial, polite, and helpful staff - panoramic lake view - breakfast included - restaurant I didn't like: - hard to reach the train station/bus stops (but the hotel cannot do anything about it) - old amenities and some spiders in the rooms

Lovely hotel and views
The hotel looks pretty bad and run down from the outside, but inside it is lovely and warm and welcoming, it looks like it's had a refurbishment. The staff were lovely, the room was lovely and so was the breakfast. Best views from a hotel I've had for years too. I couldn't fault the hotel other than outside appearance.

Property was lovely and great value for money. The beds were changed everyday and the views over the lake were incredible!!! The breakfast was good with enough options to keep most people happy. Can’t complain at all about the stay. The view is what made it for us!

if this is 4 star...
The hotel has been left without even the very essential basic maintenance. Very run down and sad to see how no effort has been made. This is the furthest thing from a 4 star hotel and the price is a total rip off. Honestly worst hotel I’ve been to, and I’ve traveled 15 years for a living.

We wanted to love this hotel
The restaurant staff was very polite and helpful, however unfortunately this is the only good point. It’s hard to believe this hotel is considered 4 star... it’s in an utter state of disrepair and decay. The stairs had been peed on by a dog, carpet is filthy and stained, same as everything in room with damaged floor, chipped walls, damaged furniture, curtains with actual holes, and à terribly old and uncomfortable bed (two singles joined together with a large gap in the middle. The shower reminds me of a cruise ship, except smaller. The worst is the noisy road in front of this hotel which is a never ending symphony of motorcycles and cars reving their engines as they pass the stop lights. The food was so salty and pain we had to send it back... the staff in the restaurant was understanding and replaced our dish. I’m shocked by this hotel... it need a LOT of repair and better management. 4 stars is a joke, seriously.

How on Earth is this rated 4 star?
The worst hotel we’ve stayed in since the 1980’s. Extremely old and worn out. Black mold around shower/bath. Just awful.

Just a very nice Hotel, will stay again
We read reviews some of which weren't very good but we found the exact opposite. Staff that couldn't do enough for you and our room was very good. I can only assume that some people want the world for nothing, as such we were on holiday, so the room was to sleep in with a view over the lake, the bar was to drink in at the end of the day and the restaurant was very good indeed. Car park good and generally a good hotel that doesn't cost the earth within easy reach of everywhere. We'll be back.

all the staff bar the evening bar man couldn't have been more ignorant. the hotel is in need of a refurb. the only things going for it are the view and restaurant

wonderful view from balcony
Excellent views, walking distance from town and station. Great local market. Continental breakfast with superb range of home made pastries and cakes. Staff so helpful at all times, aiming to ensure customer satisfaction. Hotel is a little dated in décor but this did not affect our stay. Although situate on a road, the double glazing ensured any outside noise was eliminated.

Fantastic View, but Too Run-down and Isolated
I made a mistake with this choice. The hotel feels like it hasn't been given much attention since the late 80's. It was inexpensive, the bed was comfortable and the view out the window can't be beat. But, the bathroom was a bit scary, the breakfast was pitiful and the place was dead. They didn't even set up or wipe down the plastic furniture on my balcony. I also didn't realize that despite being a walkable distance from the train station, the route is not really walkable. You have to risk walking from the end of town along a busy highway for 100 m to get to the hotel.

Great time had. Arona is a lovely town. Boat rides, walking, swimming in the lake and mountain walks are all nearby.

The hotel is nicely located and has free parking which is a big plus. The views of the lake from the room was great and it was an easy walk into town from the hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel is beautiful old building but is showing it's age. The bathrooms while adequate need renovation in particular.

Hotel Concorde is in a wonderful setting overlooking Lake Maggiore just outside the picturesque town of Arona. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive. The food was excellent. The room had a wonderful view of the lake. The bed was very uncomfortable, probably with a very old mattress. Overall the hotel really needs a makeover, it is looking a little shabby, especially the stair carpets and the quality of the rooms. So, although we liked the venue and the staff very much I cannot recommend this hotel and would not particularly choose to return there unless it had been refurbished.
