Stellar stay, exceptional staff
A great experience-- asked for a balcony room and the staff delivered, have never had such a large terrace! Room 101 was comfortable but that terrace is something else! It's as large as the dining room underneath, contains 2 lounge chairs and a table for 4. It was such a pleasant place to watch the light change over the lake. Very quiet at night with good restaurants nearby, and only a few steps from the Ferry Dock. Highly recommend staying on this pedestrian-only island.

The perfect escape to Lago Maggiore.
This was my 4th trip to Isolate deli Pescatore during the last 10 years and it is just remarkable in all ways. Very, very quiet after about 6 PM with many fine restaurants to choose from.

Great view with the balcony rooms.
The balcony rooms have a beautiful view. Easy to get to the hotel by city ferry system. Staff when out of the way to help with a request we had.

Nice room with a lake-view balcony
It has everything you will expect but no water boiler, not a deal breaker though. The room is clean, the view is excellent, staff are helpful, and it has an elevator so you don't need to worry on your heavy luggage.

Beautiful little heaven with a view
The Belvedere is a small and beautiful hotel on the quiet Isola dei Pescatori which is a 5 minutes ferry trip from Stresa. It has been all remodeled and the rooms are comfortable, modern and clean with all commodities. When I arrived there was a confusion since the description on Hotels.com missed the type of view and since I booked a deluxe room, I thought that it came with a lake view which was not the case. Although, this was not the Belvedere's fault, they provided me without any extra charge a beautiful room which had a balcony on the lake. The service was impeccable and dinner at the restaurant was amazing. If you are going in this region, I highly recommend the Belvedere.

Beautiful location. We had an upgraded room which felt brand new. Really comfortable with a lovely little balcony overlooking the lake. Comfortable beds. Tea and coffee making facilities. Excellent bathroom with huge walk in shower. Would really recommend this hotel. Food was good too. The island is quiet in the evening once the tourists have gone which means that there are limited options for drinks and food. Didn’t matter as the benefit is that it’s peaceful.

Amazing setting and balcony
Hotel Belvedere has a one of a kind island setting within Lake Maggiore. Our balcony view was terrific and so spacious. Windows all around made the room very cheerful. The experience alone makes this place unforgettable. We easily caught a boat from Stresa and were able to park our car right at the Stresa boat dock, so logistics were simple. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant, appeared that the clientele were arriving by private boats in the evening and the atmosphere was very nice. WiFi and AC worked well. Our room had a bathtub, no shower, a bit awkward for me, but overall very special stay!

Arriving by boat to a small island, we were happy to arrive in the evening hours. After being welcomed by the nice staff, we opened the door to our room and were amazed. The hotel is superbly renovated to a high standard, paint is still fresh and it feels both classy and homely. But the best detail is the view off the balcony. Get up early for a spectacular sunrise over the lago maggiore! A great thanks to lovely hosts that not only equipped our room with a baby bed free of charge but also looked after us well. Make sure you taste the delicious food in the restaurant. The breakfast on the lake terrace is a great way to start the day.

Very basic for the price
Room was very dated, the hotel is very rustic which was fine except room was more 1980's than 1800's. The staff were the most unfriendly we encountered which left us feeling very disappointed. However the location was the saving grace, wonderful views from room and restaurant.

Perfect hotel on Isola dei Pescatori
This is the only hotel on the island with air conditioning which is essential in the hot months of July/August. The restaurant at the hotel is pleasant with varied offerings with emphasis on lake fish. The personnel is most accommodating. The rooms are modern with a recent renovation.

We stayed here 2 nights and it was a decent sized room with a terrace. We found it difficult to use the air conditioner on the first night but after speaking to the receptionist in the morning it was ok. You have to hold the control very close to it. Breakfast was fine and lovely outside in a small courtyard overlooking the lake. You could order your choice of coffee. Island gets quiet some nights.Our first it was busy (a Tues night), but the second night it was really quiet(Weds).Many of the places open during the day close . The hotel was open for eating both nights however although we didn't eat there.

Perfect hotel for a celebration
We had two nights at the belvedere hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and it was everything we could have wished for... The views from the lake view room were amazing, the sound of the lake lapping at the shore was relaxing it was just a shame about the weather, little to do when raining heavily!! The hotel was modern and comfortable a pleasant change to the other more traditional hotels in the Italian lake resorts. The food and service at the restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly. Only thing to note is that as this is a very small island there are few restaurants open at night although you can get the private boat over to Stresa - but you really do not need to as the Belvedere restaurant is lovely.

Island is quiet in fall time over night but amazingly charming. Hotel restaurant one of few open but fortunately good meal. Embarquadro Resturant on the island was great for lunch the next day our favorite after being in Italy two weeks

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great food, including breakfast and restaurant. Free water taxi service to mainland in evening. Beautiful views from restaurant and some rooms( we were in 102). Beautiful location great atmosphere. Loved it.

We stayed for 3 nights in a room with a lake view after seeing ratings on Tripadvisor. The hotel is small and quaint, very clean, basic and comfortable. The island is very small, it takes about 5 minutes to walk around and it does feel like you are slightly stranded – however, Stresa is also very small so you may feel like this anyway. It did feel slightly inconvenient to be on the island. Apparently the hotel can book you free transport after the public ferry stops, but I did not see this stated anywhere except in my guide book. Also I have read reviews about hot breakfast but did not see that anywhere. On the flipside, the croissants were very fresh and tasty. Be careful if you are arriving late, we had to book a different hotel the first night because of lack of transport to the island.
