“Loved this hotel”

This hotel was a true find in Lucerne. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially those working at reception and the breakfast area. Breakfast was great and included several different cheeses, breads, fruit jams, fried egg, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals in short something for everyone. I had a double room which faced the beautiful church outside. Some light sleepers may not like to hear the church bells but if you keep your windows closed or ask for a back room I don't think it should be a problem. We arrived in Lucerne by train and getting to the hotel was easy maybe a five-ten minute walk. The room and beds were comfortable and walking to all the main sites in Lucerne was easy from the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

“Great Location near the Lake”

Great location, close to train station & many attractions. Very close to lake & a popular park which overlooks lake. Many people like to relax here, including their locals. All in all a great hotel with many eating places close by. The breakfast here is the best.

“Would stay there again”

The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful, going out of their way several times to provide excellent service. The facility was comfortable, interesting and clean. The restaurants associated with the hotel had very good food and provided good value. If you are looking for a posh, ostentatious hotel, this is not the place, but if you want a friendly, helpful, clean, comfortable and interesting hotel, you will be very pleased.

“Great Hotel-Great Location”

We just returned from Switzerland, The hotel rebstock couldnt have been a better choice...The rooms were a great size and exceptionaly clean. The Staff was amazing....they couldnt do enough for you. The location was perfect, it was across the street from the lake and next to all the shops and and easy to get to most attractions. Yes, the church is next door and you do hear the bells -but for me it was charming, not a problem. I would definately stay there again. Thanks Hotel Restock for a great vacation to Lucerne.

“the best kind of eccentric”

I've used the Rebstock for years: mercifully ungrand (there are Swiss resort hotels that make you feel you should wear a tie to bed) eccentric in the best way, full of idiosyncratic art, friendly and very comfortable, a decent kitchen and excellent breakfast. It stands one block back from the lake at a quarter the price of the behemoth hotels with a direct lake view (although there are rooms at the top which can match them -- a terrace looking out to mountains both ways.) You're ten minutes brisk walk, two tram stops from the railway station, and next door to the church which holds the dragon chasuble (ask; you may not get a direct answer.) Rather wonderful church bells may not seem so wonderful if you're trying to sleep in. The building itself is handsome red half-timber with user-friendly adjustments (and a modern bit.) The bar and the restaurants, including a cool garden, are much used by locals, which makes for a good mix (it's hard to forget that the place is popular -- in summer, in some of the rooms at the front.). I do miss the great lady who once owned and ran the place -- and once gave me pralines because she hated to see people all sad at leaving -- but the Rebstock remains a very rare kind of charming, as well as comfortable and practical and all the other good things.

“Lovely lucerne”

We had a very good stay at Lucerne! Shame we took the British weather with us, but still Switzerland was beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable! Hotel Rebstock is conveniently located in the city centre with easy access to the Chapel Bridge and the train station and the boats! Treated well by hotel staff, who were friendly and helpful!

“Very nice hotel and excellent restaurant with wonderful ambiance”

Very nice hotel, with good location, close to the lake, Old Town, and the Sleeping Lion, Very adequit room with bath. The breakfast was very good with a great selection of breads, fruits, cheeses, eggs, meats, cereal, and other tasty choices. The dinners at the restaurant are excellent with a great attention to detail. The owner shows great concern for his guests and is very amiable, going from table to table to see that each person is being served well. I would recommend asking for a room away from the church, which would be quieter. Yes, I would stay there again.

“Fantastic hotel/service”

This hotel was extremely clean, attractive, and convenient to all the attractions Lucerne has to offer. The one draw back would be the noise made by people walking on the wooden floors in the old part of the hotel. However, the noise does NOT take away from this hotel's greatness and I would not even consider going back to Lucerne without booking a room at the Hotel Rebstock. The food in the restaurant was some of the best we had in Europe and the hotel service WAS the best we had in Europe. I highly recommend this hotel!
