“Superior location in Lucerne”

The best 2 things about this hotel are its excellent location and its nice breakfast, which we enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the river where one of the historic bridges crosses. Though I'm sure its not a problem most of the year, there is no air-conditioning; and I was too warm to sleep well with the fan that was provided in the room. The room and bathroom were generally very nice and comfortable. However, there were 2 annoying aspects of them: 1)The bathroom light turns on (and off) automatically by a motion detector, which is not good if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and it stays on too long after you leave the room. 2)Our king-size bed had a sharp corner that we painfully found twice. Because of the arrangement of the room (with storage and refreshment area behind the headboard), the bed is almost centered in the small room.

Tiny rooms, overpriced for the value and very noisy because of the bar next door. It had the tinest TV 10 inch??? that I have ever seen in the room. Very well placed and gives you a good view of the mountains and lake.

“Really nice place to stay in Lucerne”

Recommend a lake view. The rooms are a bit cozy and I had some trouble not flooding the bathroom with the shower (user error), but overall a really nice place to stay and I'd do it again. Downside is that check in is at 2pm (2:30 for our room to be ready) and check out is at 11am. So if you stay one night, it's like 200 bucks for much less than 24 hours. Also, neighbors on the balconies can smoke a lot which blows into the room. Fortunately there is a fan provided for this. Really nice place to stay though and if you like to run, it's an awesome city to run through. Decent shopping as well. I loved Lucerne! Oh, and if you go by train, the trains go to Zurich airport nearly every hour and you only need maybe 15 minutes of time to catch your train.
