“Small room but adequate hotel for the price”

Hotel was adequate, but small. I chose this for it's proximity to the train station. It was within walking distance.

“Noisy room”

Beside clean room, comfortable beds, relative central location, our room was noisy, not only from outside, but we good also hear our neighbours speaking. Not exactly what they said, but it reminded us of our cheap hotels and motels from years ago. Breakfast was good thought. Restaurant was cosy.

“Clean and convenient - don't look for personality”

De la paix was a pretty conveniently located hotel in Lucerne once we found it (hidden behind a restaurant). Its a 5 minute walk to the lake, 10 to the boats that take you to Vitznau, etc. The room was clean but no real niceties included. It was fine for a place to sleep but not much more than that. The front desk gave a great recommendation on a restaurant that served really good fondue. I'd recommend this place to friends if they needed a place to lay their heads down, but not for any kind of 'comfort' travel.

“Swiss Hotel”

The location was excellent, 7mins from the train station..1min from the shore of Lake Luzern. Plenty of shops and restraunts near by it, with a restraunt in the hotel taking outside bookings. I did not personally eat there so cannot comment on the food. Breakfast was included in the price and was at a very reasonable hour - 07:00 - 10:00 - Just a normal breakfast on The Continent, lots of ham, cheese, bread, crackers, cereals that sort of thing. Countless types of tea and coffee and a good selection of juices. The room was a good size for what it was, the view was not all too desirable but the fact it was so near the lake made up for it. It had a desk, chair, T.V mounted on the wall. There was a lift there. Staff were friendly and helpful when I asked them to assist me in finding information out about getting to the summit of Mount Rigi. The hotel also had free Wi-Fi so I could use all my BlackBerry services there. All in all a good experience, I would definitely go back there. Good value for money

“very comfortable and well located three star hotel”

The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable for a short stay.

“Close to old town area and river”

This is an older, small hotel, but the rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was very helpful. Beds were more comfortable than at most European hotels. Bathroom was tiny, but well maintained. Very close to major tourist area in Lucerne, which is a lovely, lovely city.

“Worth considering”

This is a basic hotel, but quite adequate. We had a large room - we could see from the fire card that other rooms were smaller, so we were lucky. It was clean and adequately furnished. It had a small old TV but still managed quite a few channels including some UK ones. There is an electronic safe. The location is very good. Only about 8 minutes walk from the train station and at the end of the main shopping street. About 300 metres walk down a main road to the lake. Breakfast buffet was simple with nothing hot (except hot drinks of course) but well laid out and again adequate. For a few nights on a tourist budget this hotel is fine. If you want luxury, pay more elsewhere.

“the hotel is bit old”

the hotel is close to the old town center, is easy to find, and only 15 mins walk to the train station. lots shops and cafe, restaurant around. the hotel is kind of old, so for me didnt feels like clean. the breakfast in at the 4 star hotel next door. staff is very nice and helpful. overall is ok, if you dont mind the hotel is old.

“Good hotel for a reasonable cost”

This small hotel is a few blocks away from the main train station, very convenient for train and bus travel. It is also next to the shopping/business district.
