“Great if you're in the main hotel!”

If your room is not in the main hotel you wil find yourselves in a 1950's venue. Closet non-existant, slightly funky smell --- a re-do of the section woud be most helpful. The pics on the site are definately from the main hotel and not the section of rooms where our group was located.

Area recommendations
Obviously the outlet shopping area or the tourist facilities (miniature golf, amusement parks) are the places to go to...not before the end of June or your options will be somewhat limited.

“Ideal location, incredible view”

This was our second stay at this property, which is ideally located at the southern tip of Lake George. We opted for a slightly higher priced room in the main building and were given a comfortable space equipped with a fridge, microwave, desk, loveseat, etc. Best of all, our room had a truly spectacular view of the lake.

Area recommendations
The village of Lake George is designed to appeal mainly to families with young children. I recommend that visitors not miss the village of Bolton Landing, which is quieter and more evocative of Southampton, the Cape, or Door County. Sagamore, the most famous resort on Lake George, is located here and is simply beautiful. Its bar and restaurant are open to all, and we had a wonderful casual meal amid the hummingbirds and the hanging baskets of flowers at the end of May.

“Great Stay at Lake George!”

The hotel was great. Better than some of the other hotels that I've been to in Lake George/Glens Falls. The price was right and the hotel was even better. The room was clean and the comfortable. I brought my 3 year old and 8 month and the junior suite (rm 355) was perfect. The view from the lobby to the lake was beautiful. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our family will definitely go back to this hotel if the price is within our budget again. Thank you for a great stay Fort William Henry!

“You get what you pay for.”

The room you get is on the motel side of the hotel (East or West Wing). That is why you get a reasonsable rate. But all of the facilities are available to use. Because there were a few weddings and a lot of people using the restaurant, parking was limited and we choose not to use any of the facilities. Unfortunately one group of wedding goers were drunk the first night and got very loud and obnoxious. The location of the hotel is great and the view of Lake George is gorgeous!

Walk through the shops of Lake George, the hotel is centrally located and this is easy to do.

“Perfect location for Americade!!”

The rooms were clean and comfortable. I was unsure after reading reviews about the quality of the rooms in the "wings" of the hotel but they were perfectly fine. We stayed on the backside and had a beautiful view of Lake George and were able to park our motorcycles right outside our door. The best part was at night we could leave our bikes and walk down the paved path from the hotel to the main road - perfect location!!! Would definitely stay here again.

“can't wait to go back next year”

we stayed in what seemed to be an older room, it was a little run down but it was expected as we booked late for a long weekend but the view made up for it! the hotel was beautiful and we will definitly be retur.ning, hopefully next time we will get a nicer room!

we visited The Great Escape when we went to lake george, ny, it was a nice park and not to loud or congested.

“Never Again”

I would not stay at this hotel again. The check in is way to late in the afternoon and the price wasn't good for the accomodations we wanted and hoped for. The main hotel is beautiful, but the little brother hotel we paid for wasn't very clean and wasn't anywhere near the same comfort level as the main hotel.

“Very convenient”

This hotel was very conveient to the area i was hoping to b close to, very nice, the only complain i have is that they didnt offer a later check out which would have been more accomodating for me. otherwise no negative comments.

“Pleasantly Surprised”

After reading all the negative reviews, I was fully prepared for the worst but we were pleasantly surprised and very happy with our stay. We paid a very discounted rate on Expedia and stayed only one night (when you book directly through the hotel a 2 night stay is required) so I assumed we would be in the older section but we were placed in the main hotel which is beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The lobby and common areas are elegant and clean. Check in is at 4pm so that had the potential to cause some logistical issues since we were traveling with 2 small children but our room was ready earlier so we were able to check in at around 2pm.

Traveller's tip
Avoid The Lobster Pot!!!Way, way overpriced for meager sized portions of mediocre to poor quality food. Also, if staying at the Fort William Henry be prepared to walk into town to find coffee in the morning. The Sticky Bun, which is affiliated with the hotel, was not open as of 9:30 am on a Sunday morning.
