Fulfilled all our expectations

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Our room, the staff, restaurants, bars, health club and cigars.
Cons: Decor in lifts could be updated.
Location: Lake Geneva, olympic museum, Montreaux and Vevey are nearby by public transport.
A grand hotel in every sense of the word. We expected the Lausanne Palace to offer all that an expensive five star swiss grand hotel should offer, and it didn't disappoint. Excellent facilities; the best health spa I have experienced thus far in a hotel, a buzzing bar in the evening and a number of restaurants -we ate at the brasserie twice and the cote du jardin once. Only disappointed that the cigar bar was closed over the summer months, so could not use it, but an adjoining smoking lounge was available, as were a good selection of cuban cigars to purchase. Staff were superb, and concierge were invaluable in recommending good restaurants to us. Will certainly be returning.

Great Hotel to stay, just the beds are extremely hard and pillows are extremely thin (uncomfortable). The rest was outstanding.

Luxury hotel in Lausanne

This is a luxury hotel located in the historic center. Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very nice, location is convenient to the metro and railroad. They have an excellent pool, spa and gym facilities. Definitely recommend!

Great location. Great service. Huge rooms huge bathrooms. Great lake view. Requests dealt with immediately. Costly but well worth it. We enjoyed our stay and wish we stayed longer instead of splitting out trip 4 nights in Lausanne and 2 nights in Geneva. Tip. Stay in Lausanne Palace

Very Friendly but not cheap!

Really nice hotel in a great location, don't fool yourself into thinking you can walk there with you case from the station though - It's not far but it's a massive hill. The staff throughout could not be more helpful and friendly, they really make the stay. The only thing is that it is very expensive, breakfast is CHF40 and diner at any of the hotel's restaurants is very expensive (but also very nice!!). There are plenty of good alternatives within an easy walk though. I would highly recommend this hotel, we'll be back for sure..........

Swiss Excellence!

Pros: Friendly service and central location. Huge bathroom with very nice tile work, glass shower and separate tub.
Cons: Minor complaint but the electronic control panel for the room could not be turned off and filled the room at night with a faint blue light.
Location: 5 min walk (up hill) from the main train station and very close to all major shopping areas.
My wife and I recently stayed a night in a deluxe lake view room and were very impressed. Our room (610) had recently been renovated and this made our stay a real treat. The décor was very luxurious and the bathroom downright palatial! Our room had a small but functional balcony with a great view of Lake Genève. I am very happy to recommend this hotel.
