“Basic, clean, well presented and comfortable”

The Ibis Crissier is a typical Ibis hotel with a consistent quality. It is basic, well presented but comfortable and reasonably priced in comparison to other accommodations in Switzerland. They provided clean linen, towels and the showers are hot. It met our needs for 2 nights. It is in a quiet light industrial area away from the crowded busy cities. The GPS took us right in front of the hotel. Car park is free and secure. Staff are helpful. Wifi is free and breakfast is available for an extra charge. The purpose of our trip is to drive the Swiss Alps so location is ideal for us by avoiding driving through the cities. We drove through Geneva and Lausanne which was accessable from Crissier without difficulty. Switzerland is a place I would like to visit again and I would definitely stay in this hotel.

Area recommendations
We need not spend much time in the cities to warrant a review.
Getting around
We leased a car in France. We were able to visit many places not access able to non motorists, public transport and coach travelers. We love the independence of a car but had a choice to commute by public transport if we wished esp in congested cities. We filled the car with non perishable groceries from supermarkets avoiding many dine-outs. We timed our holidays when the weather is not too hot and not too cold. We pack essential basic items. We tend to bring non bulky but thin comfortable presentable clothes and layer them when cold. When the weather gets warmer, we peel them off. We travel very lightly and limit our belongings to 2 small suitcases. In Switzerland everything is a must see because it is a very scenic country. No matter where one goes, The views are spectacular.
