“Travellers Rest!!”

We stopped overnight at this hotel on the first, and then on the last day of our tour in Switzerland. The hotel is obviously very popular, and we were lucky to get rooms at a reasonable price, even by booking well in advance. We were told that there are lots of conferences and summer activities in Lausanne. It appears to be very much an international centre, and this hotel is right by the station/bus/metro services. The receptionist was wonderful, helpful and multilingual. Our stays were supported by all the staff most efficiently and in a friendly relaxed manner. The room we had on our first stay was wonderful!! It was actually a 3-bedded room and so was very spacious for two people. Although it was on the 4th floor and the skylight windows looked directly over the station platforms, it was well soundproofed and very peaceful at night. The a/c worked well. The room on our 2nd stay was on the first floor and looked out onto the side of the station structure! Although not over-spacious, it was again clean, comfortable and again equipped with everything we might need - including a kettle and tea/coffee tray! A real bonus! The buffet breakfast is wonderful - huge and varied in choice. There is no restaurant at the hotel but it is within walking distance, or metro-distance, of a wide variety of restaurants - including in the Old Town, or by the lake. We were given a voucher for free public transport during our stay, so it was all really easy and enjoyable.

“Great hotel, noisy location”

Had to decide whether to not sleep because of the noisy trains or sweat with the window closed. Air conditioning not good!!!! Otherwise a lovely hotel with great breakfast.

“Acceptable hotel”

The staff were helpful and spoke good English.Breakfast was a typical Swiss hotel breakfast. The room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and the shower was one of, if not the best I have ever had in a hotel in terms of heat control. The only down side was the room was small, not a problem in terms of moving around but it had a very small wardrobe and no drawer space which mean't we had to leave alot of our clothes in our small case which then had to be put inside the large one to conserve space. We were next to the railway line but after one night the trains didn't bother us. As we were travelling by train every day the two minute walk to the station platforms was very useful. If we feel the need to visit Lausanne again we will be more than happy to stay there again.

“Affordable but small room”

The hotel is very conveniently located at the station. The room is affordable and clean, but extremely small. The breakfast is fresh and good.

“convenient, clean, good beds!”

Near station. Very helpful staff. Rooms basix but spotless and lovely firm bed. Good brealfsdt. No restaurant for dinner but excellent cafe next door. A bit small. Rooms noisy as thin walls. But very practical, clean and convenient. Would go back.
