“Top Marks”

Palace Hotel is excellent in all respect as shown in the scores above. . It is well situated for Desnzano or Sirmione, walkable, but a taxi is only a few euros and you have the hotel shuttle service at certain times. Lovely breakfast and the lunch offering is more than adequate. Pollside is lovely. Only thing to wish for is more shuttle options and maybe some basic gym equipment by the spa area.

Area recommendations
Desenzano on market day, Pescheria, Garda, Sirmione, Beautiful clean, friendly villages/towns. Little vidence of crime or vandalism. Well behaved and respectful tourists. Water ferries

Easy in a taxi from Verona airport, ask the price first though, and make it clear you are not prepared to be charged excessive amount.

A range of clothes generally smarter than you would normally pack

A bit pricey but worth it, lunch is as important is dinner.
Events and shows
Go to the opera in Venice but beware, getting to and from is not easy with traffic etc, The opera runs from 9.15 to about 12.15 !!!!

“An excellent hotel with extremely friendly and helpfull staff.”

Everything about this hotel is faultless. It without doubt lives up to its status as a 4* classification. I will should I be able to, stay at his hotel again.

Area recommendations
The beauty of the lakes is magical. Venice is within travelling distance. There are so many more areas to explore.
Getting around
A car is a must to be able to explore the beautiful area.
Must see
A visit to Venice is a must.

“Superb hotel - the best we saw in the vacinity.”

The only criticism I had of this hotel was that they did not serve any meals other than the continentel breakfast served from 07 :30 - 11:00 each morning. Great location overlooking the lake and the staff are very friendly and can speak English, German, Italian comfortably. Would not hesitate in booking this hotel again in the future as we travelled all around the southern tip of the lake looking for better hotels and although there were some 5 star hotels I still preferred the look and feel of the Palace Hotel - book this hotel and you will not be disappointed.

Traveller's tip
Hire a car and you are free to travel wherever and whenever you want. We travelled around 1300 miles during our 9day stay and paid around 100 euros in parking but this is much cheaper than how mnuch it would have cost 6 people to travel on public transport to the locations we visited.

“Can't wait to go back”

What a friendly hotel - great staff! We had a very relaxing stay and will certainly be going back. Our second floor room was spacious and very comfortable and the balcony gave us a view out to Lake Garda and over the pool - not to mention the spectacular lightning one evening. Buffet breakfast good but no evening meals served in the hotel - a number of pizzerias within walking distance, though.

Traveller's tip
There is no hotel shuttle from the airport (as mentioned in the web ad when we booked) and although the hotel arranged a discounted taxi for us, it cost 65 euros. We made regular use of the hotel shuttle into Desenzano and Sirmione. Service buses were on the hour and we bought several (inexpensive) tickets in the tobacconist's which made return travel to the hotel easy.

“Hotel liegt an einer viel befahrenen Straße”

Ordentliches Hotel an einer stark befahrenen Straße. Geräumigkeit und Sauberkeit der Zimmer sind gut. Tiefgarage vorhanden. Personal korrekt und hilfsbereit. Frühstück entpricht nicht der Kategorie 4 Sterne. Klimaanlage war leider zu laut. WLAN nur im Eingangsbereich und nur gegen hohe Gebühr!

Pfingsten. Italienische Sommerferien im August. Region ist daher zu dieser Zeit überlaufen.

“Tolles Hotel mit super Lage zwischen Sirmione und Desenzano”

Das Hotel Palace können wir zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Überall (Zimmer, Pool, Aussenanlage, Frühstückssaal) war es immer sehr sauber, alles top gepflegt. Die Zimmer befanden sich in einem super guten Zustand, das Reinigungspersonal hat wirklich sehr sauber gearbeitet. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, gute Isolierung, man hat wirklich keine Geräusche aus den Gängen oder Nebenzimmern mitbekommen, die Klimaanlage arbeitet auch ziemlich leise, haben wir nachst aber immer ausgeschaltet. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr ausgewogen und reichhaltig für italienische Verhältnisse. Die Kellner, das Servicepersonal, das komplette Team war immer stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. An der Rezeption spricht man deutsch oder englisch. Die Poolanlagen sind sehr schön, vor allem der Pool auf der Dachterasse im 3. Stock ist TOP! Super Ausblick auf den Gardasee!! Die Lage des Hotels war für uns wirklich optimal, das Hotel liegt genau zwischen Sirmione und Desenzano. Beide Städte sind schnell mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Zu Fuß unserer Meinung zu weit, man ist schon auf ein Auto angewiesen, da wir aber mit dem Auto angereist sind, für uns kein Problem. Das Hotel bietet aber auch einen Shuttle Servie an. Rundum haben wir sehr erholsame Tage im Palace Hotel verbracht und werden auf alle Fälle wieder dort buchen.

“Palace Hotel, Desenzano di Garda, Italia : excellent !”

Excellent hotel, 4etoiles, tarif raisonnable. 2 piscines (RDC et 3e etage). L'hotel est a environ 40 metres de la bordure du Lac de Garde. Une residence luxueuse borde le lac puis route (2*1 voie) principale et Hotel. Le bruit de la route n'est pas un probleme dans l'hotel. Il peut etre un peu genant quand on est a la 2e pisicne au 3e etage (preferer le bronzage avec lecteur mp3...). La vue sur le lac doit etre possible a partir du 1er etage mais pas du RDC. Belle vue au niveau de la 2e piscine. Acces wellness SPA sans supplement : Sauna, Hammam et Douches tropicales. Massages possibles en supp. Belles chambres avec 3m plafond, propre, belle SDB, tele ecran plat avec chaines italiennes et qq allemandes, minibar, safe, petite terrasse, lit 1m80. Parking souterrain sans supplement Petit dej varié jusque 11h; snack possible au bar de la 1ere piscine (en supp). Personnel tres sympathique L'hotel se situe entre Desenzano et Sirmione, des bus sont a priori disponibles, nous avons toujours utilisé notre vehicule.

“vinitaly a desenzano”

in occasione del vinitaly 2011 abbiamo approfittato io e la mia ragazza delle bellezze del lago di garda come punto d'appoggio.abbiamo prenotato questo bellissimo hotel con servizio veramente da 4stello.in più,nonostante fosse solamente il 9 di aprile c'erano oltre 30gradi e in piscina si stava meravigliosamente.presente anche la spa in hotel.l'unica nota è che l'hotel è accanto a una rotonda di una strada molto trafficata e se si lasciono le finestre aperte la notte si rischia di esser svegliati dal rumore. per il resto nulla da eccepire,anzi colazione molto buona e staff molto cortese. lo consiglio vivamente anche se forse un po caro

“Hotel mit Seeblick an Uferstrasse”

Das Hotel liegt an der befahrenen Uferstrasse, dennoch waren die Zimmer ruhig. Es hat zwei schöne Pools, Sauna, reichhaltiges, leckeres Frühstücksbufet, große Zimmer mit Terrasse. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren über Silvester dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, würden wiederkommen.

Area recommendations
Desenzano, Peschiera, Lazise, Bardolina, Salo, Sirmione sind die schönsten Orte, mit Uferpromenaden, tollen Geschäften, Restaurants etc.
When to go
Juni bis September, aber auch Weihnachten/Silvester sehr sonnig-kalt schön, mit Schnee auf dem Montebaldo samt Skiliften, fürs Rodeln und einfache Abfahrten.
Dining
La Plume in Peschiera, La Boheme in Lazise, Aspege in Deßenzano, alle mit einem reichhaltigen Angebot, sehr gutem Essen zu akzeptablen Preisen.
