“LOVELY HOTEL”

HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AT ALL TIMES AND THE STAFF PAID ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

“Would love to go back”

It was lovely - just lovely! Room was upgraded when we arrived - we faced the pool and lake - definitely worth it. The hotel upgraded it on their own free of charge. Staff very thoughtful and considerate and attentive. Breakfast fabulous. Location could not be beat for staying on Lake Garda - took the ferry everywhere and definitely want to return.

“Great Location, Nice Small Hotel”

Nice hotel, lovely position and rooms are pretty good. Does not do meals other than breakfast - having said that breakfast was excellent! Great staff and a good base to explore the Lake. Majority of guests there were German which is usually a good sign of quality. Only issue is that with the pound/euro rate as it is it is expensive! as is the rest of this area.

Good selection of restaurants on the lake side - avoid the Cutty Sark one, makes Falwty Towers service look good!!

“wondeful and quiet hotel..”

only downside is the limited breakfast choices, but beautiful hotel set in quiet area. rooms spacious and balcony offered fantastic views of the lake. friendly staff and good location although 5 minute walk to lake. hotel does not have a resturant, but guests can get discount in restaurant in sister hotel right on beach. enjoyed our stay. thank you.

hotel dos not charge for parking and that tipped the sales in its favour as we were a party of 8 hiring a van for our trip in northern italy.

“Villa Sofia in besonderer Lage zwischen See und Altstadt”

Sehr komfortables "Bed and Breakfast " Hotel der gehobenen Art in einem gepflegtem Park und ansprechender Umgebung. Neben dem für italienische Verhälnisse gutem Frühstücksbuffet offeriert man auch leichte Mittagsgerichte und Snacks (bis 14Uhr und eventuell saisonbedingt) sowie einige Cocktails (bis 19Uhr) Die Lage machts! Kurze Wege (10-15 min) zum See, Bootsaanleger und Restaurants in der Altstadt erlauben einen entspannten Aufenthalt. Auch wenn es vereinelt italienisch-eng zugeht, aber wir bekamen zu jeder Zeit einen Parkplatz auf dem Gelände. Sie möchten sicherlich wissen was ihnen die Urlaubsfreuden TRÜBEN könnte: Der Platz rund um den schönen Pool ist arg beengt, aber selbst im August und bei ausgebuchtem Hotel, gab es für uns drei immer einen Platz. Nur scheinbar wenige Gäste verbrachten ganze Tage lang am Pool. Der Pool ist von moderater Grösse und daher kein besonders geeigneter Platz zum toben. Persönlich würde das Hotel daher auch nicht für Familien mit kleineren Kinders empfehlen. Für lange Cocktailabende ist das Hotel nicht aufgestellt (ist ja auch ein Bed and Breakfast) aber einfache Getränke werden von den Damen and der Rezeption freundlich serviert. Für mitgebrachte Fahrräder gibt es keine ausgewiesenen Unterstellplätze, es findet sich jedoch immer ein Zaun oder eine Laterne in der Anlage wo man das Gefährt sichern konnte.

When to go
Der Ort und das Hotel sind von Frühjahr bis in den Herbst zu empfehlen. Juli und August (Aug 2011 war besonders warm) können jedoch heiß werden. Was einem aber in Italien nicht überraschen sollte und an einem See auch durchaus zu ertragen ist.
Dining
Die Lage zwischen See (10 min bergab) und Altstadt (10 min bergauf) und damit Zugriff auf zahlreiche Restaurants bietet vile Möglichkeiten. Wir wurden bei den 4 Restaurantbesuchen in Gardone nirgends entäuscht, aber die Trattoria del Borgo, in der Altstadt neben der Kirche hat uns kulinarisch (bei noch akzeptablen Preisen) besonders gefallen.

“Hotel liegt 5 Minuten vom See entfernt, alsolut ruhig in schönem Park”

Das Hotel ist wunderbar, liegt in einem schönen alten Park 5 Minuten vom See entfernt. Wir haben uns ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt, Ruhe, wunderbare Natur, freundliches Personal und ein schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf den See. Etwas Besseres kann man nicht finden!

“Klein aber fein - tolles Hotel mit super Ausblick”

Wirklich sehr schönes kleines Hotel mit nettem und sehr aufmerksamen Personal. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einem kleinen Balkon vorne raus mit einer einmaligen aussicht über den Gardasee. Im Ort sehr gute Möglichkeit zum Essen ,weil wir kein HP gebucht hatten. Frühstück ist zwar nicht so reichhaltig wie in großen 4 Sterne Hotels aber es war alles da , was man braucht. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr entspannten und erlebnisreichen Urlaub und kommen gerne wieder in diese Hotel.

Dining
Das Hotel liegt in Gardone . Unten im Ort gibt es das Restaurant " Wimmer ". Es gibt auch in dem aktuellen Reiseführer von Marco Polo einen Hinweis darauf - einfach ausprobieren - der Salat Wimmer , die Pizzen und auch der gegrillte Fisch- einfach super und nicht zu teuer.
