“Clean Hotel - Wrong Location Without a Car”

We booked this as a last minute break, the hotel is in a residential neighbourhood of houses and rented villas, with a small pool and lawn areas. It is slightly economical with the actualite to describe it as being in Sirmione. The main interesting bit of Sirmione is at least 30 minutes walk away (Fast walking at that!), where you can get access to the lake ferries. Without a car, we relied on taxi's to get around, but there are hourly buses to Sirmione from near the hotel. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious and well appointed. The bed was a trifle hard, but slept ok on it. Air con worked and cooled the room sufficiently to sleep at night. Breakfast was disappointing with only tinned fruit and limited choice of cereals. Would have been improved by providing a toaster. Nice terrace to have your breakfast on. Reception staff were a little brusque and not all certain of check out times. Check-out being an early 10:30am meant we needed to leave our luggage somewhere. Hotel's response was to leave it in reception area. Not what we were expecting. Left on an earlier train instead. We wouldn't go back to stay in this Hotel.

Area recommendations
Stay in Sirmione town at the end of the peninsula or in Desnzano Del Garda or Peschiera Del Garda, which all give access to the lakes ferry system. Gardone Riviera a good palce to visit by boat
Getting around
Use the extensive ferry system to get around the lake. You can by a day ticket for the lower half of the lake, which allows you to hop on and off ferries all day.

“Very pleasant”

Hotel staff were very amenable, the food in the hotel was good and reasonably priced. To get to the old part of Sirmione we walked the 2 miles along the lakeside but there were frequent buses if required, when there there was the opportunity to catch a boat to all the places on the lake, reasonably priced. Buses to Verona were every hour and cheap, around £3 each way. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

Pool sehr sauber. Trotzdem inmitten von Sirmione ruhiges Hotel. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants zu Fuß zu erreichen. See max.

“hotel porto azzurro sirmione”

Must see

Area:

Sirmione, Italy: Spectacular Sirmione occupies a narrow spit projecting into Lake Garda, its entrance guarded by a picture-book 13th-century moated castle. Its immaculately-tended little pedestrianised town is patronised by a wealthy clientele, many of whom come for the spa and thermal baths complex. At the end of the peninsula visitors to the impressive Grotte di Catullo, the largest Roman villa remains in northern Europe, enjoy panoramic lake views.
