“Friendly small hotel”

We knew nothing about the area and chose Sirmione having read a guide book first. Hotel was small but very comfortable and staff were obliging and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable and all you would expect for a 3 star establishment - the hotel is fairly new. Very convenient for lots of restuarants. Parking is about 400 metres away up the road. Sirmione is not easy to get in and out of through the throng of tourists and I am glad we were not trying to do so at the height of the season. Breakfast was adequate - there was always plenty of everything although bread could have been fresher. For the cost it was good value and I would recommend it as a budget option in what seems to be a fairly exclusive destination.

“Very Pleasant for short breaks”

This is a very pleasant small hotel ideally located in the heart of Sirmione old town. It has everything you need for a short stay but you may find that for a longer visit its facilities are limited. The rooms a clean, modern and comfortable as well as being a reasonable size. The rooms have all the things you would expect, air conditioning, a TV, mini bar, a safe and plenty of hanging space. Loved the bathroom, which had a semi wet room feel, but imagine that some may not like the floor getting wet (the bathmat that soon solves the problem). Lovely hard wood floors instead of the usual tiles. Found the staff helpful and keen to please.

Area recommendations
I would say be careful when selecting your hotel as those in the newer part of Sirmione can be quite some distance from the old town and beyond walking in some cases. The old town itself is what you come to Sirmione for with its Roman villa and castle well worth a visit. The view from the castle is spectacular. Do go down to the lido a beautiful bathing area so take your swimming costume. I would recommend buying a day ticket for the ferry (18 euro) which allows you to explore other places along the south side of the lake. We visited Garda and Lazise, but could have included others with the day ticket if we had wanted to. Do go early as the ferry later on gets very busy even in mid September. There is a large market that moves location so do check where it is on each day as it is worth a visit. We took the bus into Verona it takes around 1 hour, again go early the bus does get very crowded. Verona is well worth a visit but is very busy considering the time of year. Do be aware that most restaurants have a cover charge in Sirmione and Verona (not always clearly advertised), however the ones we went to in Garda and Lazise did not - although they may just have been lucky choices. Found that in Sirmione generally the lower the menu prices the higher the cover charge!

“Great value hotel for this unique location”

This is a great place to stay in Sirmione, particularly if you are driving. Access to the pedestrianised area is only permitted if you are a resident or have a hotel reservation. The hotel had done its job and we had no problems getting entry and finding our parking spot near to the hotel. (You do check in and drop bags off at the hotel before driving about 400 metres to a permanent parking place). The rooms are finished to a high standard and are very comfortable.

Area recommendations
Garda - all travellers should take a boat trip and enjoy the scenery from the lake. Garda is a larger town, and is about 45 minutes by boat from Sirmione. It also has a regular service every day. Verona - a wonderful city to be seen on foot. Easy to get to by train or car from Sirmione. Also, take in an opera at the Arena di Verona - spectacular!

“Well worth a visit”

Excellent hotel, looks like its recently had money spend on it. So convenient in location, yet down a quiet street so no noise at night. Lovely views from balcony of lake so do ask for a lake view. Good breakfasts. Well worth a visit!

“it was pleasant enough”

very modern, clean hotel with polite informative staff.......however something just not "right" no outdoor space or real facilities, no atmosphere. room was spotlessly clean and modern but not very comfortable, bed felt as though it was made from concrete, no clocks at all, silly little open shower cubicle that flooded the bathroom each time it was used. car parking is provided in the car park of a closed hotel only a short distance away. breakfast...............no, horrid coffee and a dull selection of meat, cheese and dry bread we only bothered once. this is a nice place and makes a reasonable base but do not go if you want a place to relax its just to "cold"

Area recommendations
easier to stay outside the old town walls as is difficult to drive in especially when you arrive on a public holiday

“Great location, great value for money”

Hotel is on a perfect location in the vehicle restricted historical part of Sirmione, however still offers free of charge vehicle access and parking in the historical part. Parking is located less than 5min from the hotel. Breakfast is good, personnel is friendly and speaks decent English.

Area recommendations
Desenzano del Garda, Salo, Riva del Garda, Malcesine great places for tourists, great sights, great food, great experience
When to go
April - May is the beginning of the season and is not crowded although there are plenty of people. At this time one could enjoy greater attention in hotels, restaurants and cafes at lower prices.

“Great value for money. Clean, tidy. Best location”

Excellent 3 star hotel in the historic centre of Sirmione. Clean, tidy rooms in a quiet area. Perfect location with shops and plenty restaurants a stone throw away. Very good value for money. Corteous and friendly staff. The parking is a bit far (400m) from the hotel, but hey, you will walk a lot anyway to visit. Tips: if you go with a car, note that you can enter the traffic restricted area by mentioning that you have a reservation at the hotel.

Area recommendations
We recommend that you go to Venice if you haven't been there, it's 2 hours away. Needless to say, visit the small towns around Lake Garda and if you go in the summer go to Italy's Disneyland: Gardaland. Enjoy!

“Convenient and delightful in Sirimione”

Well run, clean, terrific hotel. Parking was a distance away but secure. Location was convenient to town and beaches. Challenging drive through the streets town to get to hotel and parking. Stop at guard gate to enter - don't walk first as we did. Guard has all reservations on the "island" and will let you enter.

“Nice hotel, great location”

Hotel is a small hotel on the spit's end out in the garda lake. A great location, parking and driving in the historic part of Sirmione is hard! A lovely place and all walkable from the hotel which has comfortable and clean rooms, a basic breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again for another visit to Garda.

Traveller's tip
Take a motor boat out on the lake to explore the lake and other ports more. Euro100 for 2 hours between 4 people was well worth it!

Sirmione, Italy: Spectacular Sirmione occupies a narrow spit projecting into Lake Garda, its entrance guarded by a picture-book 13th-century moated castle. Its immaculately-tended little pedestrianised town is patronised by a wealthy clientele, many of whom come for the spa and thermal baths complex. At the end of the peninsula visitors to the impressive Grotte di Catullo, the largest Roman villa remains in northern Europe, enjoy panoramic lake views.
