The hotel staff were warm and welcoming from the first check-in. The lounge areas had plenty of space and the waiting staff made sure you were comfortable. We went for dinner one night at the hotel restaurant, the meal was excellent you felt that you were being looked after through out, and we were pleasantly surprised at the cost. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on, I didn't have enough pillows at first but more were brought to the room.
There was a varied menu for the breakfast. The concierge was helpful and informed us of the local activities before we set off to ride the steam boats. We also order room service, this was reasonably quick although our order did get taken wrong originally this was fixed before the food was brought up. The same is true for the breakfast in bed. Overall this was a lovely stay and we would definitely go again.
Nice to find a hotel where the parking is not extra! Great attentive and friendly staff, lovely views.
Fantastic cheese souffle starter for dinner but mussels need some serious attention/flavour before getting to the table please Chef............
Awesome breakfast with great attention to detail and really nice to be with staff.

This hotel was recommended to us by a couple who go there regularly. Unfortunately they could not come due to a family bereavement and could not be reimbursed as we all booked a non refundable room. What a shame as the 2 nights cost a lot for the four rooms and six of us ate in the restaurant the first night, spending a good deal on food and drinks. I did ask at reception if anything could be done in the circumstances but they said it was Expedia's policy.
Just an overnight, for the cycling event - but a pleasure on all counts.
Food was really good quality, the spa pool something really special - especially after 115 miles in a bike - and the views, bed and staff were all equally top notch.
We'll be back - hopefully without a bike.
We booked the family room at the last minute as we were travelling down south from Scotland and wanted a night in The Lakes en-route. What a brilliant find, we would definitely be pleased to recommend.
Home to England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, the Lake District is a National Park of astonishing beauty and a huge draw for nature lovers and hikers. The multitude of lakes and tarns give the park a stunningly unique landscape, which visitors can take in during a slow ramble or whilst enjoying one of the area's many recreational facilities. Coniston Boating Centre offers boat and bike hire.
