“Beautiful View”

A very nice hotel on the outskirts of Lecco, a small picturesque town on the shores of Lake Como. Although, the staff are not the most communicative they serviced our needs well, including a nice recommendation for dinner at a restaurant at the center of town. The rooms were nice and big and they hotel had Sky TV (the equivalent of cable TV) which had a number of US TV shows.

“Wonderful Views!”

The hotel has beautiful views of the Lake and is in a great location -- about 20 minutes from Bellagio. It is a great value for the the lake view and terrace that you get as part of your room. I would not recommend eating in the restuarant for dining unless you are looking to spend an exhiorbant amount of money. But it is great to have a the free breakfast each morning with the wonderful views from the rooftop of the hotel. Also with the free parking you can easily drive to and around the Lake Como region.

“Gorgeous Lake view”

The hotel location is too good to be true. All the rooms have gorgeous Lake views and you just don't want to leave room or its terrace. Waking up looking at the lake view is just breathtaking. The breakfast was quite good again with the view. Although the closing time of the breakfast for leisure travel is too early esp. on Sunday (10 a.m.) The bathroom items were too little. The staff were quite welcoming and the parking was plenty even thought the hotel can often be full. The small negatives become too small compared to all the positive aspect of this hotel.

“One of the Best Hotels I have stayed in”

Very nice and clean hotel. It is in a small town called Malgrate, very close to Lecco (10 minutes walk). Beatiful view from the room I stayed, good size balcony to enjoy the view. Room size is big, not like other small European Hotel rooms. If you have a car, definetely stay in this hotel. Otherwise there are other hotels in Bellagio or Como that are in the town centre. But I am very happy with this hotel and would definetely stay there if I ever go back to Como, which I hope will be very soon.

“First trip to Italy - very impressed”

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, but nothing can be perfect for everyone. Most of the staff were very friendly, but we thought that some of the reception staff could have been a bit more friendlier and pleasanter. Our room was of a decent size with an excellent view of the lake, but it could have had a bit more clothes storage space. The breakfast room was really nice with a variety of choices of what to eat. A big plus and with really nice staff. Lecco is a very nice town an a trip on the ferry is a must for everyone. We found the hotel easy enough, but were a bit disappointed with the location. The front of the hotel is on a very busy road, but most of the rooms seem to be at the rear. At the rear entrance of the hotel to the left (about a 5 minute walk) we found the really good pizzeria we read about. It had a wide variety on the menu, with large proportions and good value.

“Hotel Griso, Malgrate, Lecco”

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was great, view from terrace was amazing, amazing location and view of the lake! I will certainly be going back!

“Nice hotel.”

Had a very pleasant stay at this moderately priced, very clean well maintained hotel. Room was excellent, view was great, hotel staff very helpful. It is a must to have a car, and parking was plentiful. Hotel is just a few minutes scenic drive to either Lecco or a ferry station that will take you to the center area of the Lake. I would stay here again.

“fantastic view shame about the room”

The view over the lake was fantastic and worth staying at this hotel for that alone BUT the room left a lot to be desired.It was a junior suite,there was a big gap where the sitting area should have been and a camp bed in its place,so 3beds and nowhere to sit! There was nowhere to put your clothes(felt a bit like camping out)no water,slippers and gowns as stated in hotel description.The fan didnt work in the bathroom nor did the plug in the sink so had to run water continually to get washed.No coffee making facilites in room so went to restaurant/bar but that was closed (which it often was)We were also given incorrect information at reception twice from very hit and miss staff.All minor stuff i know but when you put them all together made for a dissapointing stay at this hotel.

“A Wonderful Hotel”

We had a 5th floor room with balcony overlooking the lake. The room was modern, spacious and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and enormous!! The bathroom was large, elegant and well equipped. We were able to put our drinks in the fridge so we could enjoy a G & T on the balcony! We had a light supper in the hotel bar which was extremely good and good value. Our "fine dining experience" in their restaurant was pleasant but the portion sizes were miniscule! (Don't go there with an appetite). We had arrived by car and, although we had planned to go on foot, the weather was hot and humid so we didn't walk into Lecco as it looked like a good 20 minute walk - probably quite pleasant if the weather was cooler. We took a boat from Lecco to Bellagio (about an hour trip) which was nice on a hot day. We drove to Varena which was a lovely spot up the right of the lake and had lunch at the waterside. We loved the town of Lecco and spent a day there exploring and shopping in the traffic-free streets. Lots of lovely shops to tempt you. There are a couple of bars/restaurants within five minutes walk to the left of the hotel as you're facing the lake if you don't feel like going into town. We drove to Como (30 mins) and spent the morning exploring. Overall, we decided we liked Lecco better as there seemed to be a lot of construction on the lakeside though the cathedral and architecture in Como was impressive.
