“very clean and in a brilliant location, but a bit like a conference centre, no personality.”

We booked the hotel because of the pool, but with the lake to swim in the pool was redundant. Our room was lovely, really really big cozy bed, but its balcony was right over the car park and main entrance. it was quite a bit extra to have a lake view. The staff were nice enough, but the whole place lacked any real personality. if you are going for work or to use the gym then this would be perfect, but personally i found the big breakfast room empty and reminiscent of being at a conference.. not being on holiday.

Area recommendations
Its tiny... so all of lake Bled is worth a look. i would recommend cycling round the lake.
Outdoors or beach
Dont pay to use the public swimming area, you can swim anywhere round the lake and if you walk/cycle round you will see people have developed their own areas for doing this.

“Nice hotel, good price and friendly staff.”

The hotel staff were very helpful. Our first room had a problem with the air con, but they moved us easier enough. room service was great, very large portions and yummy. good location to the lake and other restaurants.

“Economical, Well-placed Hotel”

Great location, good view if choose Lake View, Decent breakfast buffet, economical and in same location as the most expensive hotels.

“Much Better Hotels in Bled”

I paid a lot more for a lake-side view but was given one overlooking the parking lot... If, however, I leaned out from the balcony I could see the corner of the lake and therefore it was considered a "lake-side" view. When I complained I was told they were all full since they were hosting 3 conferences that weekend and I was unable to get a different room. Also had to pay 20 Euro per person to have use the sauna.

Traveller's tip
If you are going to stay there, don't eat there... I ordered a pepper steak with potatoes and received an overcooked steak with and cheap frozen french fries.

“Nice centrally located hotel”

Very nice and clean facilities with helpful staff. I assumed it was directly on the lakefront but rather its up on a hill. The lakeviews are limited from many rooms, however, one does see the Castle on the hill.

“Beautiful Slovenian Hospitality”

When my wife and I arrived in Slovenia to attend a friend's wedding, sadly our luggage didn't make the trip.(it arrived two days later just in time to make the trip back to London). The staff in the hotel were sympathetic and understanding; the free internet access helped us to communicate with our airline; and the staff also gave us ideas on where to get clothes from. They helped us in classic Slovenian style and I can tell you it made a big difference to us

“fabio da treviso”

camera pulita, il terzo letto aggiunto per mia figlia era invece un pò ballerino. Struttura vicino al centro e molto comoda.Ottimi i servizi offerti dall'hotel nella parte fitness e piscina. Personale gentile e accogliente. Io ci ritorno e lo consiglio alle famiglie visto che la piscina è una fonte di gioco notevole per i bambini.

“Hotel Kompas ist sehr gut gelegen.”

Das Hotel entsprach ganz meinen Erwartungen. Es ist ordentlich und sauber und bietet einen guten Service.Auch ist die Lage zum See sehr günstig.

“rundum zufrieden”

Hotel mit gutem westlichen Standard. 3 Minuten Fußweg zum See. Blick auf die Burg von Bled (wenn Zimmer zur Seeseite).

When to go
Wir waren Ende März dort. Noch sehr gute Schneebedingungen. Viele Pisten und Loipen (Pokljuka) in der Umgebung. Im Sommer ist es sicherlich am See sehr schön.
Getting around
Man sollte auf jeden Fall mit dem Auto anreisen.
Dining
Restaurants direkt am See waren nicht so toll. Gut essen kann man im Union Restaurant (offener Holzofen, auf dem direkt zubereitet wird).

“Ok hotel voor een OK prijs”

Niet de slectste maar niet de beste hotel in Bled..maar wel in een goeie plek met een mooi uitzicht. OK voor een paar nachten. Kamers zijn netjes, ontbijt OK (als je vroeg bent) en handig voor centrum, meer een restuarants.
