We stayed one night in Riga with our 1 year old son as a stopgap from elsewhere in the country. Arriving travel weary at around 1000 am the staff let us check in well before time, found us a room straight away and got everything set up for our tired little boy. The room was comfortable and clean. The room was more basic then we have been used to at the advertised standard but the bathroom was well equipped which made up for any perceived shortfall.
We ate at the restaurant through convenience but were both extremely happy with the choice. The setting is fantastic and the food was excellent. Highly recommended on the basis of high quality and good value.
In summary a really pleasant stay in a lovely hotel with excellent decor, helpful staff and a top notch restaurant to boot.
This hotel was perfect for a few days break in Riga. My boyfriend and I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel staff were great. Very helpful and professional. The room we had was spacious and very clean. We didn't spend much time in the room but one great thing was that there were some British channels on the TV which was nice for when we were in the room. The breakfast was continental buffet style. It wasn't 5 star gourmet but there was plenty of variety and everything was tasty. The location is ideal as it is in the middle of everything. Which meant everything was within walking distance.
We plan on staying in this hotel again next year!!

"Spacious room with best views of the main churches"
Comfy, friendly hotel. Nice large rooms. Hotel restaurant has great food and recommended on many restaurant review sites. Right in Old Town and close to many of the top tourist sites, but cobbled streets through most of the Old Town keep it quiet at night.
Helpful staff with a great central location right in the old town. 4 mins walk from the nearest bus stop from the airport too! Breakfast was a little strange (calamari rings anyone?!) but enough to fill you up on. The room was warm and cosy but only had one pillow each. This was easily remedied when we asked for more though. I do think they could've provided a free large bottle of water in your room as standard, and a kettle with cups would've been much appreciated.
It is an old building from the 1700's and in the old part of Riga, which is just like old Europe. Cobblestone streets and all. Old Riga is absolutely beautiful and would be best in the summer. Prices are very good. I went to the opera for $20 USD. There is an enormous market close by - indoor and out. The restaurant at the hotel was closed for renovations while I was there, which was a disappointment - it has a fireplace and and outdoor section, but the staff were wonderful, and happy to bring complimentary tea, coffee, and breakfast to the room. Everything is within walking distance. It was wonderful.
And everyone I met was very nice.

We enjoyed our stay with Red Nose Hostel. The staff was really nice and allowed us to store our bags till our check in time and after check out. Our neighbors were a bit noisy, but i guess that's normal for hostels :)
