We spent two nights in this gem of a hotel. The official photos do not lie. The rooms are outfitted and decorated with genuine antique furniture. High ceilings, old lamps, the flair of La Paz golden era. Aged in style, but not worn or decayed. The mattresses and linen seemed new, the place was very clean.
The breakfast in the sunny garden restaurant was the best we had on our five-country trip through South America, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location is near La Paz's busy main axis, you can easily walk to San Francesco and the busy market quarter. Considering you are in La Paz, the neighborhood is pretty safe. But, of course, it is La Paz...
The only reasons I would subtract a point are: 1. the antique tub in the bathroom was a little too antique and uncomfortable for my taste. There is only a hand-shower and no curtain... 2. The rooms have no safe. The staff gladly and reliably locks away your belongings, but depending on who is on duty (meaning: has the key), especially in the evening, you might have to wait until you get your stuff back.
