Slightly dated hotel but with a good layout. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful - in fact, every member of staff who passed by smiled and gave us a very pleasant 'Good Morning!'
The lounge/reception area is large and with plenty of sofas and chairs. The WiFi connection was very good and probably about 6 other people were on devices using the connection when we were there and our connection didn't falter.
The buffet breakfast offered what must surely be every combination known to man (not all swans and roses but still excellent fare) and again the staff were exceptionally pleasant. Used plates were cleared quickly and tables made ready for the next guests.
I would just comment that the music from the live trio in the evening was a little too loud for me. Although we were actually sat there to listen to the music and watch the trio, if I had been sat at the bar and not interested in the music, I would have found it a slightly negative point.
The swimming pool overlooking the sea is lovely and the beach with restaurants is just a few minutes away.
At the moment, they are renovating the promenade - hopefully that will be finished soon.
We stayed for a week in early December 2014 in room 101, shortly after a major refit (May - October 2014). Everything was new, and very clean. There is a good cooker, and a big fridge. The shower is good, with good hot water. The beds were very comfortable.The outside space is excellent, we had a patio right on the edge of the garden which was amazing. The pool is lovely, and bigger than I thought from the photos. Most rooms on the first floor access the garden, but if you had a room not facing the garden, then I don't think that it would be as good. The sofa was uncomfortable, and everything possible cost extra - the safe, lounger cushions, Wi-Fi, washing machine. This was disappointing, as we had stayed in Santa Cruz the week before, where all these things were included in the price. The location is excellent for catching buses, and it is very near the old town. Do walk down to Puerto Tazacorte, and back through Tazacorte, as it is a lovely walk, and Tazacorte is very pleasant. The staff (owner I think in reception) was very friendly and helpful, and the cat was a cheeky delight.

This was the fourth time we have stayed here. Now, unfortunately, or fortunately, there are few if no English visitors to the island; as there are no package trips and no direct flights to La Palma - we chose to change at Madrid. As ever the hotel is clean, well staffed and boasts an excedllent choice and quality of food. The location right on the coast is quite awesome. Great stay and would probably go back - travelling to the island with no direct fights is about 7hours!
