“Everything you could want.”

Everything was as expected. The staff is above average and friendly. Yes, I would stay here again.

“Comfortable hotel, great location”

Very comfortable hotel. Large double beds. Spacious, clean, contemporary rooms. No breakfast facility on Saturday and Sunday but good local cafes nearby. Best attribute is the hotel location - only one street block away from the Raizor promenade on one side and a 10 minute walk to the harbour and city centre cafes and restaurants on the other side. (remember La Coruna is built around an isthmus so there are two water frontages.

Area recommendations
Visit the Roman lighthouse (Torre de Hercules). Take a trip around the very long waterfront on the tram to Orzan and Raizor Beaches. This tram also takes you to the lighthouse. Walk around the old town behind Plaza de Maria Pita. Try out the bars and restaurants around the narrow streets west of Plaza de Maria Pita - eg. Calles Estrella and Galera. See the glass fronted buildings as you walk along Avenida Marina. Take a 1 hour boat trip around the Ria. Boat leaves from the inner harbour (not well advertised so look for the sign at the harbour edge).

“Modern, characterless, but good value for money”

This hotel is in a good location between the old town and the newer parts of La Coruna. THestaff were all very friendly and helpful although limited in their knowledge from a visitor's perspective. The fixed price menu in the restaurant is excellent value for money and the buffet breakfst was typical. Two negatives: on the side of the hotel where our roomwas located the street noise was disturbing on Friday night and Saturday morning and night (lots of shouting); you have to keep the curtains closed more or less permanently or be totally exposed to view from the buildings opposite.

Area recommendations
Try the restaurant Pimenton on Plaza de Espana -great service despite their not speaking English. Suberb cooking.
