“Before a convent, now a lovely convenient hotel”

I stayed in a quite attractive "superior" room and enjoyed the unusually large variety of offerings at the breakfast buffet. The location in a small quiet valley is a 10 minute walk to the cathedral and a 20 minute walk fo the university.

“nice location”

We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have parking, even if we had to pay extra. It was only a 5-10 minute walk to the Cathedral. We loved the town!

Area recommendations
This is a good place to stay if you are traveling by car. Hotel parking. Easy drives for day trips (Cape FInistree, A Coruna, etc)

“A thoroughly enjoyable stay”

Even with helpful hotel signs, if you are driving, it can be tricky finding the AC Palacio Del Carmen the first time, even with GPS. However, the hotel is well worth the effort and a few moments of frustration. We found it to be quiet, comfortable, very attractive in the modern way of AC Hotels, and ideally located for everything that we went to Santiago to see. A fifteen minute walk will take you to the Cathedral, and there are many interesting ways to vary the walk. The hotel staff were professional and pleasant and those with little or no Spanish will have no difficulty whatever. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the Palacio del Carmen unreservedly. By the way, once you have a grasp of the local neighbourhood, the drive to the airport and autovias is actually quite straightforward.

“Good hotel.”

The hotel staff is not very friendly (at least, the guy that was at the check-in desk when I arrived). About the room that they gave me, the bathroom had a water leak -the floor was full of water-, but they sent someone with the key to another room and they moved myself right away. Overall, is a good hotel but if I were the hotel manager, I will go over my employee roadster and probably do some changes.

“Next time I´ll stay there again !!!”

Great hotel. Originally it was a convent, you can´t tell because today it is modern and new inside. You can go in a ten minute walk, aprox. to the old town where the cathedral is located. I´ll give two thumbs up!!

“Enjoyed our stay! Good value.”

Enjoyed our stay. Very nice hotel. The rooms are not so big as I thought they would be, but very cozy. The minibar offered very little bottles of water and carbonated drinks. The toiletries were not really designer, just regular hotel toiletries. Close to the cathedral, and a very enjoyable walk, not at all strenuous as other people have mentioned.

“A Nice Stay At AC Palacio Del Carmen”

About a seven minute lovely walk into the old city and the hustle and bustle. This hotel is modern and serene. My only complaint was that the bar and room service menu was limited. The rooms are stylish and very clean. The hotel staff was very professional and I had a very pleasant stay. You can stay here or at the Parador Hostal dos Reis Católicos which is also a beautiful hotel. But they are very different. The Parador is in the center of all the activity, more fashionable with high end service. The Del Carmen is in a quieter spot and more laid back.

“Can't wait to go back”

We were very pleased and our request for a King Size Bed was fulfilled. Location is excellent and the Staff were all very helpful!

“Sehr gute Wahl”

Hotel sehr zu empfehlen, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, nur Frühstück nicht inbegriffen und vergleichsweise teuer (16 €). Hotel liegt nicht schlecht, in Fußreichweite zum Zentrum, ist nur nicht leicht zu finden (trotz Hinweisschildern und wegen Einbahnstraßen).
