“Cool place to stay, a little out of the way but generally okay.”

This hotel is quite modern and and trendy. The location is just outside of Barcelona but the Metro is a 10 minute walk away and the journey into Central Barcelona is another 10 minutes. I did not go out during the evening so I don't know how it was to get back to the hotel at night otherwise I found it very easy to travel into Barcelona. I did not have breakfast there but never so many cafes close by it was not a problem. The staff were generally quite friendly. A couple of criticisms, there was no shelf in the bathroom shower so all of my toiletries had to sit on the floor and to get Wi-Fi I had to go in the lobby as I could not access it from my room. This was a bit annoying because when my mother asked receptionist if there was a TV in our room she reminded us that this was a four star hotel and if it didn't have a TV that they shouldn't be open! However, in my opinion, for a four star hotel I would expect Wi-Fi in my room and somewhere to put my toiletries in the shower.

Area recommendations
This area is good if you don't go out in the evening. If you do go out in the evening and stay in central Barcelona as the Metro shuts down at midnight. Also this neighbourhood was quite a safe neighbourhood. In the early evening old people were out couples are out, people with children out so that just shows how safe it is. But whatever you are always look out for pickpockets
What to pack
Pack comfort footwear where as you'll be doing a lot of walking. Also remember that Barcelona is not always sunny so check the weather before you go and make sure you pack a coat if you need one.

“Great wee hotel”

This was an excellent small hotel which we got for a very good price. While not in the centre of the city, the nearest metro station was only a five minute walk away and a ten minute subway ride to Catalunya in the heart of the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room bright clean and airy.

“Worth the money”

Not as central as some hotels, but with the Barca Metro system local station on the L1 line just a few hundred metres away, it absolutely doesn't matter as you can be at Espanya or Catalunya in just a few minutes for less than one Euro. The area is full of local people, not tourists and there are a couple of wonderful fresh fruit shops just around the corner on the way to Eulalia Metro, a couple of supermarkets close and a very big shopping centre within walking distance. Hotel staff were all very helpful and polite and there is a square full of local bars and tapas places that cater to the locals, not the ludicrous rip-off places in the tourist trap areas like Ramblas.

Getting around
Buy a T-10 card for the Metro. 8 Euros for 10 trips anywhere in Barca. It makes London look ridiculous and expensive.
What to pack
A travel kettle and teabags if you are a Brit ;-)

“Bedcelona”

Great place if you want somewhere quiet but is easily connected to the centre and the surrounding areas.Hotel was satisfactory,cleaned every dayand the bed was HUGE!! (get four people in comfortbly) Overall one of my best holidays and Barcelona what a place, loved it!!!

Getting around
Don't use anything but the metro, what a system! Can get anywhere you want easily, quickly and its cheap.

“Excellent Hotel Excellent Staff Just Excellent”

Hi, If you are reading this review to make up your mind about staying at the Eurostars Lex hotel in Barcelona then stop and just click to book. This hotel is perfect in every single regard. The location is in such a quiet and peaceful place. The sleep you will get is fantastic, the beds are great and there are blackout curtains. It is seven stops on the L1 metro line from Santa Eulalia station (right near the hotel) to Catalunya - the centre of barcelona and las ramblas. 10 tickets on metro are 7.85 euros - v cheap. We came from Girona airport on Ryanair - there is a really good bus service from there which is 21 euros return each (takes about hour n15 min). This bus stops right near to one of the stops on the L1 line which is called Arc Di Triomph. So getting to the hotel if your coming from Girona is a doddle. The rough directions to the hotel from Santa Eulalia to the hotel are as follows (print this out it will help you a lot when you are there !!) Come out of the station , go down the steep road on the left. Turn left onto the main road. Walk for about a minute then on the right is a narrow street called Carreras Buenos Aires. The Eurostars Lex is on the street near the end. When we got there, there was water with fresh lemons to greet us at reception and free sweetys too ! The staff are top notch. I asked for a UK converter plug for my phone charger they gave me a local 2-pin charger instead - thats what I call service. This hotel is just perfect and cheap too

Area recommendations
One piece of advice I firmly give and ask you to remember is that Barcelona is full of con artists so keep that in mind. Me and my friend were about to get scammed by some fake undercover police men near arc de triomph area. This was an elaborate scam whereby they had a member of their gang get out attention by asking for directions and then the 'police' would come and search all of us regarding smuggling and such ridiculous stuff. Thank God I clicked as to what was happening otherwise im sure they would have robbed us blind if I hadnt questioned them and scared them off. Also watch out for the matchbox and ball gangs in las ramblas. They will con you really easily. They shuffle about matchboxes with a ball underneath one of the matchbox and get you to choose one - you lose 50 euros if you go ahead with it. They are highly trained tricksters. And they operate in groups of about 5/6 with the other people being 'punters' for the con. Apart from that, have a fantastic time Barcelona is a beautiful city.
Getting around
get the 10 tickets for travel if like me there are 2 of you and you are staying two nights. if longer then get the other tickets for unlimited travel
