“A Relaxing Treat”
It may be a little expensive, but it was a really nice hotel with friendly staff. As it's in the train station it's easy to get around Kyoto by bus (terminals just outside) and the subway. There was a great view from our room too - bought some drinks and snacks from the station and created our our sky-lounge bar!
“Superb hotel, luxurious and superb service”
Superb location right in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel is an integral part of the new architectural gem that is Kyoto railway station - direct access to the local and Shinkansen services, the tube and the bus network. The station also contains a large mall of good quality shops, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a tourist info centre and atm services. Right next door is an amazing underground mall with hundreds of high-quality shops and restaurants. The hotel has opulent public areas, superb service in Reception, luxurious standard room, oh-so comfortable beds. We didn't use them, but the hotel restaurants, and their own coffee shop next to reception , all looked fabulous. They had an excellent hire-a-laptop PC service at 1,000 yen per day and free internet connection, which was much more convenient than finding an internet cafe. We will definitely go back, and you couldn't ask for a more convenient location in such a fabulous city.
“You should stay here”
Excellent hotel in ultra modern surroundings. Step off the Shinkasen and over the bridge to the hotel. Good value for money supberb location. Large room and bathroom. Make sure you check out the roof gardens at the top of the escaltors in the station.
“excellent and convenient”
Hotel is clean to the point of gleaming, room was spacious, staff were helpful. Swimming pool was excellent and well maintained even tho it was so warm it was like swimming in a bath! Highly recomend the Hotel and i wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when i return to Kyoto.
“Great Hotel (in Kyoto Station)”
Great Hotel, really well kept in a really convenient location as it's actually situated inside of Kyoto Station, so not far to walk from the train after a long days travelling (But you have to pay extra for tea and coffee??! Oh well, we took a trip to the nearest Lawson and bought our own).
“Great location & fab service”
Had an eight night stay at the Granvia in September 2008 - the hotel is perfectly located as part of the amazing Kyoto station complex making it easy to get to anywhere in the Kyoto area. Room was very comfy, tastefully decorated in modern Japanese style and fine for three of us with a nice view of Kyoto tower and the surrounding mountains. The bathroom was great (Japanese style toilet and an amazing shower wet room) toiletries, slippers, bathrobes and PJ's were provided every day including combs and hair brushes. Service was typical Japanese efficency very good but not in your face - the only downside was having to leave!
