“COSY AND QUIET”
The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the personnel is very efficient and helpful and show great respect towards the clients. It is situated at the terminal of a metro line and allows for easy access to the centre of the city. So from a quiet surrounding one can within 15 minutes reach the bustling centre during the daytime and early evening and then come back to the quiet and cosy hotel later in the evening but the metro closes around midnight so any return after midnight requires taking a taxi.
“Very Impressive Hotel”
I stayed at this hotel while at a conference in Kyoto. (Although the hotel is right next to the conference center, my conference was actually at the university). The rate through Expedia was very good, considering other hotels in Japan, and I was very pleased with this hotel. The room was very comforable, the staff very courteous, the food was good, and the environs around the hotel were beautiful (lots of trees and a beautiful view of the hills). The hotel is on the last subway stop of the line that goes to Kyoto station, so access to the Kyoto-Tokyo Shinkansen and to all of the Kyoto sights was very easy. Although this is not a luxury hotel, I have absolutely no complaints, and would stay there again if I get back to Kyoto.
“Great views, comfortable and courteous”
Imagine a leafy green fringe suburb in your city, add a conveniently located subway station nearby and great views - and you get this hotel. Its surprisingly easy to get to - get on the Subway Karasuma line and get off at the last station - Kokusaikaikan. Follow signage to hotel. Its very comfortable, incredible polite staff and has great views from the upper levels. Its good for conference and business visitors based in North Kyoto along the Karasuma line. There are a few shrine within walking distance of the hotel. Given Kyoto's density this precinct is very green and leafy and seems to have upmarket residential. The only issues were a lack of shops and dining places close to the hotel - it was either the supermarket a kilometer away or a small convenience kiosk at the station. There is a money changer in the conference centre nearby. The room would be better off with a better selection of tea and coffee. Also an ironing board and iron would have made it more convenient. The wired high speed internet was also a bit dear. Overall its a very good hotel especially on a conference/ business trip.
“Close to International Conference Centre”
A nice hotel with good service - the only hotel near the international conference centre and at the end of the subway line from Kyoto Station. No wireless internet, and few 3 pronged plug-ins. You can get wired internet for 1000 jpy per day though. The surrounding areas are treed and picturesque, but there's not a lot of shopping nearby - not hard to get to with the subway.
“best for conventions participants”
the hotel is just in front Kyoto convention center. Most convinience for convention members Excellent subway to town Rooms big ,clean and nice staff very polite
“great hotel in a beautiful setting”
The hotel is located in the north-east section of Kyoto - a beautiful setting with lots of greens in the area and mountains as a backdrop. It is walking distance (5 min) to the Kyoto International Conference Center (a gorgeous venue for meetings) and also close to a subway station, from which you can take a 20 min ride to go to center Kyoto (Gion conner etc). The hotel itself is pretty and very nicely maintained, with rooms as big as comparable hotels in U.S. and views of the conference center and mountains. The only drawback is that there is no wifi service. You can only pay a fee to connect through ethernet in the room.
“Kyoto conference centrer hotel”
Convenient location to Kyoto conference center but far from downtown. Good standard hotel, clean and quiet. However no WIFI connection and no swimming pool, which would be required for a hotel of this standard.
“A Beautiful location. A retreat. Not in a Koyoto central location.”
Tranquil. In the foothills of Kyoto City. This hotel is not in a Kyoto centralized location. It takes 20 minutes from Kyoto Station to Kokusai Kaikan Station, and then approximately a 5 to 7 minute walk from the Kokusai Kaikan station to the hotel entrance. The surroundings are beautiful. Fall views are breathtaking.
“Excellent hotel in Kyoto”
This is an excellent hotel located far from city center in a very attractive park. Getting to and from the hotel to the city is quite easy, with a subway station only a few hundred meters walk from the front door of the hotel. The rooms are large and well maintained. Breakfast is just "OK". We ate all of our meals outside the hotel and thus can't comment on their restaurants.
“Good for Meetings and Weddings”
More information about the way to reach hotel from Kyoto Central Station shall be very helpful as every sign outside KCS is in japanese characters . As , from the limousine bus stop, cross the street, enter the KCS building, to Metro level, take Metro Kokusaikaikan direction (north), to final station, exit 4 to GPH , single ticket Y200. From exit you are 150 mts. from hotel entry, crossing the street. It is a good location for conferences, aside of Kyoto Intenational Conference Center, but 11 metro stations away from central Kyoto and tourist attractions. Decoration is deemed to be a good wedding center.
